Kansas City’s biggest Mardi Gras celebration begins Friday at 7 p.m. at Drexel Hall. Guests can enjoy an open bar provided by J. Rieger and a performance from Quixotic, as well as food trucks and music by DJ Ashton Martin. Tickets are $35 to $45 and can be purchased here.
Kansas City Brew Fest
The annual Brew Fast is back at Union Station for a day filled with beer, music and food. More than 40 craft and international breweries will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. General admission tickets are sold out, but VIP tickets are still available for $45 and can be purchased here.
Take your pooch for a play date at Bar K Dog Bar’s temporary space in the West Bottoms. While the official space is being built at Berkley Riverfront Park, Bar K Dog Bar has opened its indoor warehouse, Bar K Lab, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 515 Liberty St. The entry fee is $10 for non-members and $5 for each additional dog. The Los Angeles Times referred to 19-year-old violinist Simone Porter as a future star, and she’ll be performing at 3 p.m. Sunday at Folly Theater. The free discovery concert is the perfect opportunity to see the young musician and Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient.
