Former President Barack Obama is backing Democrat Sharice Davids in her bid to unseat Republican Rep. Kevin Yoder from his suburban Kansas district.

The two term president made his endorsement official Monday as he announced his support for 260 Democratic candidates across the country.

The Obama endorsement comes in the final weeks of a heated race between Davids and Yoder, which is seen as a possible pick up for Democrats in November.

President Donald Trump endorsed Yoder in a July tweet, as he praised the Overland Park Republican for a bill intended to give $5 billion to Trump’s prized border wall.

Hillary Clinton won Yoder’s district by 1 percentage point in the 2016 election, though Yoder defeated his Democratic challenger Jay Sidie that year by nearly 11 points.

Public polls show the race between Yoder and Davids as competitive. A New York Times poll late last month showed Davids with 51 percent of support while Yoder trailed with 43 percent.
