Young boy struck, killed by garbage truck on East 100th Street in KC
Police were investigating after a young child was struck and killed by a garbage truck Friday afternoon in Kansas City.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of East 100th Street.
The boy, police said, was struck while riding in a small red wagon at East 100th Street and Drury Avenue. He was identified by family members as Dra’Viontay Baker, an 8-year-old third grade student at Truman Elementary School.
Another boy was taken to the hospital for evaluation, authorities said. He was not injured.
