Watch the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game on the big screen at these 3 KC area parties
For the first time since the 2018 NFL season, the AFC Championship Game will be played somewhere other than Kansas City.
So Chiefs fans in town will be looking for somewhere other than GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to watch the game.
Nearly every bar in the Kansas City area will have the game on TV when the Chiefs take on the Ravens in Baltimore, Maryland at 2 p.m. Sunday.
But there are also at least three watch parties planned that offer big screens and big crowds, including at the KC Live! Block in the Power & Light District, the Screenland Armour theater in North Kansas City and the DoubleTap KC arcade.
If you have another spot in mind, let us know at kcq@kcstar.com.
KC Live! Block
The outdoor venue in the heart of the Power & Light District hosts watch parties for every Chiefs game, and Sunday will be no different.
They will show the game on the big screen outdoors and it is free for all to attend. The entertainment center has hosted watch parties for every game this season.
The section is also surrounded by a few bars and restaurants, like Pizza Bar, McFadden’s and Johnny’s Tavern, that will also be open to patrons on game day.
If you want to book a table at one of the venues at KC Live! Block, you can online.
Screenland Armour
The independently-run Screenland Armour movie theater in North Kansas City is hosting a viewing of the game on its largest screen. No tickets are necessary. It is first-come, first-served.
The theater at 408 Armour Road opens for seating at 1 p.m. and the game starts at 2 p.m.
You cannot bring in outside food or drinks. Screenland Armour serves sandwiches, pizzas, snacks and more.
Screenland Armour hosted the AFC Divisional round matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and hosted a watch party for the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVII game against the Philadelphia Eagles in February 2023.
DoubleTap KC
DoubleTap KC, 310 Oak St., right by the River Market, is home to virtual reality gaming stations that anyone of all ages can play.
It hosted a watch party for the AFC Divisional Round game, and is hosting another for the AFC Championship Game.
You can reserve one of three virtual reality gaming rooms for the duration of the game on Sunday. The price for the large room, which can host up to 20 people, is $300 and the two smaller rooms that can host six people costs $150.
If the real game is stressing you out, relax by playing one of Double Tap KC’s virtual reality games during game breaks or halftime.
The rest of the virtual arcade and pub is first-come, first-served.
