The cold in Kansas City’s in the rearview mirror, and the city’s starting to feel the heat. If you’re looking for a fun way to cool off, many of the local pools are now open for the 2023 season.

Here’s a quick look at what pools and parks will be operating for the 2023 season.

Kansas City

KC Parks pools opened their gates for the season on May 27.

Many of the pools require a small admission fee, and a number of the pools only take cash.

Regular one-time admission for the four major outdoor pools — Budd, Brush Creek, Grove and Line Creek — is $4, a six-punch pass is $12 and a one-person season pass is $25. Those four pools are open daily from noon to 7 p.m.

Hours and prices vary for the water parks and indoor pools.

Several pools will not be open this season, including Arbor Villa, Ashland Square, Jarboe, Swope, Southeast Community Center and Gorman, which is having a leak repaired. KC Parks said Gorman is slated to open during the 4th of July weekend.
