Crown Center ice rink opens for the holiday season with a free morning of skating on Friday

The holiday season takes over Crown Center this week. Starting on Thursday, you can see the pavilion get into the Christmas spirit, as the center will start hanging up its Christmas decorations.

THE MAYOR’S CHRISTMAS TREE - NOV. 3
The towering Christmas tree will begin to be set up on Nov. 3 and is Crown Center’s first sign of the holidays. The tree arrives at around 9 a.m. and will be put into its stand at around 10 a.m. on Nov. 4.
The tree will be lit up on Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving, at 5:30 p.m. A special guest will be announced at a later date to help flip the switch.
ICE TERRACE - NOV. 4
Crown Center’s ice rink opens up for the season from 6 to 9 a.m. on Nov. 4 with free skating, coffee and hot chocolate.
Reservations for the rest of the ice skating season will open on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
The ice rink will be open from Nov. 4 to Mar. 12. Times will vary depending on the weather, but here’s the ice terrace’s schedule:
November, December and January: Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
February and March: Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m to 9 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Admission for the rest of the season will cost $8 for children older than 4 years old and adults. Ice skate rentals cost $5. Children under the age of 4 are free. Ice skating season passes cost $120.
