Whether you’re into musical sing-a-longs or improv, there’s something for everyone this weekend at Kansas City’s first Fountain City Comedy Festival.

Local and national comedic acts will be performing at six Kansas City Venues from Oct. 13-15.

The new festival received over 300 submissions for performances and had to narrow down the list to 50 comics. Festival organizers watched more than 27 hours of comedy to pick the best fits based on stage presence and material.

“We are most excited to show off our city to some hilarious people from across the country and to shine a spotlight on our incredible local scene,” said Kailee Karr, co-founder and performer at the festival. “We have comics traveling in from all over to let them witness how great this city is first-hand, and we have a depth of talent living here that might not be known to all Kansas Citians.”

Starting Thursday and ending Saturday, check out over 15 different shows at these spots:

  • The Rino: 314 Armour Rd. in North Kansas City
