Now, this is cinema.

Celebrating the art of film, National Cinema Day is Saturday, with discounts in theaters across the United States. Hosted by The Cinema Foundation, the one-day event occurs in over 3,000 movie theaters.

“After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing,” said Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman in a statement. “We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet.”

Participating theaters will have $3 movie tickets for any movie.

If you’re thinking of supporting a local theater, Screenland Armour in North Kansas City is taking part in the celebration.

The theater will have these movies playing on Saturday:

  • A24’s “Funny Pages,” “Honk For Jesus,” “Save Your Soul”

  • “Spider-Man: No Way Home (The More Fun Stuff Version)”

  • “Three Thousand Years of Longing”

  • “Bodies Bodies Bodies”

  • “RRR”

  • Michael Mann’s “Thief”

  • “The Void”

  • “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”

  • A double feature including “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service”

Along with Screenland Armour, these movie theaters in Kansas City are participating in National Cinema Day:
