The Terrybrook Farms story began on a sun-drenched afternoon in 2013 when two of Kansas City’s best-known developers and builders wandered 160 acres at 171st and Switzer. Tanya and Chad Barnes of Olathe found a place that fulfilled their dream when they discovered Terrybrook Farms.

“Our requirements were very specific,” Tanya Barnes said. “The home site needed to back to a green space; the layout needed to be a walkout and we wanted a cul-de-sac. We also wanted to have James Engle build one of his floor plans.”
