Two new homes nearing completion in peaceful Shawnee community

The additions of two new homes by mid-August in the growing but peaceful new community of The Preserve at Clear Creek are just a couple of reasons to head to western Shawnee.

Built by Dreams and Design Building, the two-story, Energy Star 3.0 constructed home at 7817 Green St. will be the model home. Agents will soon be onsite for tours of the home at The Preserve at Clear Creek community.

Dreams and Design Building is also nearing completion of its reverse ranch plan Everest home that is located at 24814 W. 77th St. It will also be completed in August and is currently available to purchase. The four-bedroom, 3 ½-bath home has two bedrooms on the main level and two bedrooms on the lower level and features lovely architectural detail.

The Energy Star 3.0 constructed homes by Dreams and Design Building need to be 30 percent more efficient than homes built to current code in order to receive the Energy Star rating. Dreams and Design Building president Kevin Stallings said their homes are 45 percent more efficient, and the goal is to reach 50 percent.

Both of these homes will be on the 2016 Fall Parade of Homes by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City Sept. 24 through Oct. 9.

For new home buyers, now is the time to take a look at all the wonderful amenities The Preserve at Clear Creek has to offer. Only 10 of the 66 home sites remain in phase one. Phase two, which has 38 home sites, will begin soon.

“Things are moving fast,” said Jennifer Harvey, the lead agent for the Jennifer Harvey Team, who markets The Preserve at Clear Creek.

Daylight and walk-out homesites range from $59,000 to $69,900 and range in size from 12,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet. The price for lots in phase two will start at around $75,000. Now is the perfect time to reserve a lot.

“You will not find larger home sites anywhere in Shawnee for the price. Right now the ability to find a home site in Shawnee at the price point that we offer is something I don’t think most people realize we have. We have home sites that can accommodate four-car garages.”

The price for The Everest is $479,700. In addition to all the wonderful aspects the home has to offer, the neighborhood swimming pool is now open to cool off on hot summer days.

Living in The Preserve at Clear Creek gives you an easy route to Lawrence or to downtown Kansas City.

“It is nicely located, but it is not right by the highway so there is no highway noise,” Harvey said. “Personally, I was excited to market The Preserve because of the quiet location, but still being central to highways and shopping and the large home sites where people can actually build a larger home.”

Another attractive quality about The Preserve at Clear Creek is the De Soto school district, ranked No. 1 in the state of Kansas by Money Magazine and No. 11 in the entire country.

“It is a very family-friendly community,” Harvey said. “We offer some really nice floorplans. You are going to see reverse plans, 1½ story plans, two story plans that buyers can choose from. They can custom design their own home, which is really nice.”

In addition to Dreams and Design Building, The Preserve at Clear Creek also uses KC Builders and Design, which has been building homes in the Kansas City area for more than two decades.

KC Builders and Design just sold its two-story spec home and has two more homes planned to break ground in the Preserve soon!

“Both builders are experienced and focused on high quality standards and knowledge of features that buyers are looking for in the current market,” Harvey said. “They chose to build at the Preserve at Clear Creak because of the large home sites and the ability to build plans that they cannot build in other neighborhoods.”
