With housing inventory at an all-time low, homebuyers are increasingly frustrated by the limited – and outdated – offerings on the market. So it’s not surprising Rodrock Development is fielding huge interest in five distinctive developments. Each of these new communities offers the chance for homebuyers to find a house that is worth showcasing, rather than simply settling.

“Excitement surrounds Darol Rodrock’s Arbor Lake, conveniently located at Prairie Star Parkway and Clare Road,” says marketing agent Ann Knickrehm. In fact, a gorgeous James Engle Custom Homes 1.5 story just sold, while the community’s third plat is currently being priced.

“We had so many visitors from the Spring Parade of Homes,” says marketing agent Roberta Kranz. “They were delighted to see we have a wide selection of styles, including two-story, 1.5-story, and reverse-1.5-story plans, with the latest in colors and finishes.”

“Our furnished models by award-winning builders Rob Washam Homes, Reilly Homes, James Engle Custom Homes, and Darol Rodrock Homes offer great choices for everyone,” Knickrehm says. “Choose a plan from our builders’ expansive portfolios to build, select a home underway and add your finishing touches, or choose one of our beautifully appointed move-in ready homes.”

Also seeing a surge in interest is Arbor Woods, located at Canyon Drive and 125th Terrace. Within walking distance to Forest View Elementary, in sight of Mission Trail Middle School, and located close to the new Olathe West High School that’s scheduled to open in the fall of 2017, Arbor Woods is a community that grows with a family.

“We have two fantastic homes only 90 days from completion,” says Rodrock marketing agent Mike Slaven. “The Yorkshire IV is the newest version of the popular Yorkshire two-story plan. Priced at $368,900, this plan has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a three-car garage, wonderful covered deck, and a main level office/flex space just off of the kitchen.”

Also soon available is the Laurel II AW, a 2,642 square foot reverse 1.5 story, with four bedrooms and three baths. The large, main level great room is huge at 20 feet by 16 feet. The lower level includes a spacious rec room, two bedrooms, and one bath, so it’s ideal for entertaining. And priced at $381,500, this spacious home is a steal.

Down the street in Persimmon Hill, at Santa Fe Street and Persimmon Drive, enthusiasm is mounting at the announcement that Prieb Homes will be the exclusive builder on the final phase of 33 lots in this beautiful community.

“Greg and his team are constructing a variety of two-story plans on the remaining lots located directly across the street and east of Mission Trail Middle School,” says longtime Rodrock Development marketing agent Bruce Stout. “With pricing starting at $300,000 for a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home, Prieb Homes is developing a strong inventory.”

Plans range from 2,100 to 2,500 square feet and feature three-car garages, kitchen layouts accented with granite countertops and upgraded backsplash, hardwood flooring, extensive trim detail, and more. Persimmon Hill is an established neighborhood with three swimming pools and community tennis courts.

Yet there are still two more distinctive options for the perfect locale for a dream home. Nestled at 183rd and Quivira, is Riverstone, which is slated to open in late 2016. With approximately 200 home sites, Riverstone will offer some truly beautiful, walkout lots along city park ground.

“Preliminary estimates have featured builders Hilmann Home Building and James Engle Custom Homes breaking ground on their newest model home creations in mid to late fall 2016,” Bruce says. “The focus is on creating a destination community rather than simply a southern Johnson county residential subdivision!”

Last, but most definitely not least, is Sundance Ridge at 175th and Kenneth Road. The city sewers are going in now, but homebuyers shouldn’t delay in exploring this dream neighborhood.

In this development, Darol has painstakingly planned a community like no other. Three communities within Sundance Ridge will enjoy a breathtaking clubhouse with three pools, state-of-the-art playground, sports courts, community greenhouse, camping grounds, paved trails, and more! As well, land has been set aside for a Blue Valley Elementary school in the community.

Building permits should be available come fall of 2016 within this one-of-a-kind community, which is slated to have approximately 750 homes on gorgeous, heavily treed home sites. Homes will start in the $400s and go up.

Agents, homebuilders, and homebuyers alike are truly excited that in an inventory drought, Rodrock Development is offering an oasis of homebuilding potential. Darol’s lifelong goal is to build better communities, and these new developments absolutely deliver.
