Builder creates homes – including his own – in idyllic, resort-style community
Austin Roeser, founder of Roeser Homes, began building in Cedar Creek as many builders do – working with a homeowner on a custom-built home. Nearly nine years later, Roeser remains an integral part of Cedar Creek’s celebrated building team, thanks in part to the captivating surroundings.
“When I was building that first home in Cedar Creek, I fell in love with the trees and the hills,” he says. “Cedar Creek is just far enough removed to feel like a resort.”
Cedar Creek encompasses an idyllic space in Johnson County, striking that delicate balance between peaceful seclusion and convenient access to highways, shops and services. Inside Cedar Creek, more than a dozen neighborhoods await, each offering a distinct architectural style and price point. That opportunity for a homeowner to choose the location that best fits their preferences and lifestyle extends to Roeser’s homes, one of the key factors that’s made him such a successful builder in the Kansas City area.
“We’re a top 15 builder, and when you’re in that size range, other companies may not offer many opportunities for customization,” he says. “Instead of limiting choices to stock plans, we offer a lot of customization, especially for the available price points. We don’t charge for those changes, either – we want to ensure customers have the homes they want.”
That approach to delivering a thoughtfully planned, quality built home has made Roeser a popular choice in Cedar Creek. In one of Cedar Creek’s newer neighborhoods, The Crossings of Southglen, he has several speculative homes available in various stages of completion, including a reverse 1½-story Azalea floor plan and two two-story Chloe floor plans. A Chloe model home is available to view at 11121 S. Hastings St. and features four bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms and 2,749 square feet of living space.
In the Woods of Southglen, a heavily treed haven, Roeser Homes has a four-bedroom, three-bathroom Magnolia floor plan that’s available for immediate occupancy.
Roeser’s portfolio of Cedar Creek homes speaks to his commitment to the community and its homeowners. Three years ago, he took that commitment even further and moved to Cedar Creek. He recently bought what he called “a jewel” of a homesite in one of the community’s new neighborhoods, Hidden Lake Estates, and he has big plans for the location.
“We’re going to include a swimming pool with our home,” he says.
Now’s the ideal time for prospective buyers to make a similar move and take advantage of a selection of “really pretty lots” in Hidden Lake Estates, Roeser said. The neighborhood is now ready for custom-built homes, all of which will be enhanced by Hidden Lake Estates’ scenic wooded views. Lot prices range from $130,000 to $235,000 and home prices range from the upper $600,000s to more than $1 million. Additionally, Roeser is planning a speculative home on a walkout, greenspace homesite in Hidden Lake Estates, and he also has interior homesites available for build jobs.
Another new neighborhood, The Ridge at Shadow Glen, offers 42 unique homesites, many of which offer golf course and other wooded scenic views. Prospective homeowners will soon be able to make homesite reservations as neighborhood construction is underway, with sales scheduled to begin this summer. Home prices will range from the lower $500,000s to more than $900,000.
It’s easy to get lost in the beauty and elegance of Cedar Creek’s homes, but now is the perfect time to immerse yourself in all of the community’s extensive amenities, too. Whether you want to spend a few hours in one of two swimming pools or enjoy a serene sail on the 65-acre Shadow Lake, Cedar Creek’s resort-style amenities package offers these and much more. Homeowners also have access to a free-form swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts, a second swimming pool in the Southglen neighborhood, jogging and walking trails, the Swim & Racquet Club featuring an indoor gymnasium that’s equipped for basketball, volleyball, aerobics and a performance stage.
To experience all that Cedar Creek has to offer – and to see why Roeser calls it home—make plans to visit the community today.
