Rodrock Development boasts an astounding eight wins at Spring Parade of Homes
Rodrock Development has been taking part in the Spring Parade of Homes since 1983 and is immensely proud to have 32 years of consecutive wins. Eight homes in total—in Stonebridge Park, Stonebridge Trails, the Greens of Chapel Creek, and Forest View—were praised for outstanding home design and architecture during this year’s Parade.
“This year truly was incredible,” says Brenda Sanders, President of Rodrock & Associates, Realtors®. “We had 11 communities showcasing 34 fantastic models—from single-family homes to maintenance-provided villas. Arguably our largest Parade to date, we’re so thankful to our builders for going above and beyond. They deserved these wins!”
According to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, “The American Dream Awards recognize excellence in craftsmanship, selection of materials, and overall home construction and performance...The winners of this year’s awards truly represent the best in the homebuilding industry.”
Among the winners in Rodrock Development communities was Rob Washam Homes’ Riley III, which is the current sales office for Stonebridge Trails. This 5-bedroom, 4-bath home was awarded First Runner Up.
“The kitchen is the hallmark of this home, with upgraded countertops, a glassed-in buffet, and multiple built-ins,” says Joan Jacquin, a Rodrock Development marketing agent. “A Great Room with a beautiful bank of windows, massive fireplace, and impressive master suite complete this incredible package.”
Meanwhile in neighboring Stonebridge Park, First Choice Custom Homes was granted the Grand Prize for its tantalizing Tuscan plan.
“This design offers one-level living and entertaining in the large finished lower level,” says Ed Stephenson, a Rodrock Development marketing agent. “Meanwhile, the formal entry hall opens to a striking Great Room and gourmet kitchen with high ceilings, a stone fireplace, oversized island, and a spacious sunroom. It’s gorgeous!”
Olathe’s Forest View also got some Parade love with an incredible three wins.
“We’re very excited to unveil our new model row complex in Forest View,” says Bruce Stout, a longtime Rodrock Development marketing agent. “The awards received during the Spring Parade of Homes Award Banquet reconfirmed what we believed all along: We have assembled some of the area’s finest homebuilders and are thrilled with the recognition that they received.”
“Among the Parade’s Grand Award Winners was Hilmann Home Building with the redesigned Chesapeake II.1,” continues Bruce. “I’ve watched the Hilmann group put more thought and effort into the creation of this plan than I could’ve ever imagined. Painstaking attention to the design features, layout, and overall function of the Chesapeake II.1 has been recognized by the local Home Builder’s Association with its top award.”
JFE Construction, a newcomer to The Hills of Forest View, made quite a splash during the Parade, walking away with the Grand Award for its Silverton IV. “Chris and his staff incorporated a variety of sought-after features traditionally only found in upper-bracket construction,” Bruce says. “With rich wood tones and interior stone accents, JFE Construction creates a warmth that earned high praise and recognition.”
Finally, James Engle Custom Homes, a seasoned member of Forest View’s model complex, also was recognized with a Runner Up. “The Laurel II sets itself apart from the competition with the inclusion of a large loft area on the second level,” Bruce adds. “And the farmhouse chic décor and finishes selected by Shari Tarwater of Gallery Design have been extremely popular with both future homeowners and those looking for ideas to incorporate into their current homes.”
The Greens of Chapel Creek in Shawnee also earned an astonishing three wins, a most worthy reward for builders who rose to the occasion.
“We’re so proud of our builders,” says Bob Sloan, a Rodrock Development marketing agent. “For James Engle’s Grand Prize win, we weren’t surprised, as the Laurel Reverse Expanded is larger version of his already popular Laurel Reverse. They just kept making it better! James III Homes and Hilmann Home Building’s Runner-Up finishes were not a surprise, either. Hilmann took his immensely popular Chesapeake II Expanded reverse plan, and went up with it, giving the growing family three levels of living space. And when the first showing of James III Homes’ prototype model resulted in a sale, we knew this plan was destined to do well. It flows perfectly! It seems like we had half of Kansas City through the models in just one weekend, we were so busy. We welcome the other half to tour our models today—the final day of the Parade!”
