Local builder finds a fit with affordable luxury, debuts new floor plan to Kansas market
The stately, luxurious homes that line the streets of Cedar Creek’s architecturally diverse neighborhoods are the creations of a renowned building team that’s earned a reputation for exemplary customer service and enviable attention to detail. That tradition continues with Cedar Creek’s newest homebuilder, Summit Custom Homes, which began in 2002 and, since then, has built more than 1,000 homes in communities throughout Kansas and Missouri.
Jodi Palin, vice president of sales for Summit Custom Homes, said the company’s relationship with Cedar Creek began nearly a year ago after a Cedar Creek homebuyer reached out to Summit for a custom-built home.
“After that, the relationship continued to grow,” Palin said. “The Cedar Creek team was pleased with our progress and how Summit’s floor plans fit with Cedar Creek buyers.”
Thanks to lush, picturesque Johnson County surroundings and an extensive, resort-style amenities package, Cedar Creek homeowners are immersed in a complete lifestyle experience. That experience extends to Summit’s homes, which blend innovative design and numerous standard features that are tailored to meet each homeowner’s needs, including price point. Because Cedar Creek is so popular among families, Palin said Summit helps meet a particular buyer niche.
“We accurately address the needs of the move-up buyer – the family that needs to expand but is mindful of the price,” she said. “We’re meeting that affordability factor for homeowners who want to be surrounded by the luxury and amenities of Cedar Creek.”
In preparation for the accelerated demand that typically accompanies the spring season, the Summit Custom Homes team is already hard at work on four speculative homes, which are under construction throughout the Cedar Creek community. One of the homes, a reverse 1½-story floor plan called the Meadowbrook, marks the debut of that floor plan in the Kansas market.
“It’s a newer plan that we’ve had success with in Missouri communities,” Palin said. “We chose Cedar Creek to introduce the floor plan in Kansas, an incredible opportunity to get a reverse 1½-story home for less than $450,000.”
Additional Summit homes under construction include a five-bedroom Preston Ridge IV priced at $399,950; a five-bedroom Preston Ridge IV priced at $405,950; and a five-bedroom Bristol Ridge priced at $449,950. All of Summit Custom Homes’ speculative homes are currently located in Cedar Creek’s The Crossings at Southglen, a newer neighborhood that offers close proximity to Cedar Creek Elementary School and a neighborhood swimming pool. In fact, it’s that emphasis on families that further encouraged the Summit team to work with Cedar Creek.
“It’s a family-oriented neighborhood that’s within walking distance to Cedar Creek Elementary School, so parents can walk their kids to school,” Palin said. “Creating that family-friendly lifestyle is something that’s important to us.”
In addition to prime proximity to schools, highways, shops and services, Cedar Creek homeowners also have access to an incredible array of amenities. Whether they want to spend a few hours in one of two swimming pools, enjoy a sunset sail on the 65-acre Shadow Lake or gather friends and family for a round at the award-winning, 18-hole Shadow Glen Golf Club, Cedar Creek’s resort-style amenities package offers these and much more.
Homeowners also have access to a free-form swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts, a second swimming pool in the Southglen neighborhood, jogging and walking trails, the Swim & Racquet Club featuring an indoor gymnasium that’s equipped for basketball, volleyball, aerobics and a performance stage.
