Last year, The Preserve at Clear Creek brought in award-winning builders in KC Builders and Design and Dreams and Design Building. Outside builders are welcome with developer approval.

Currently, one two-story spec home with a four-car garage by KC Builders and Design is almost complete and is listed at $435,000.

“We have another reverse plan that is at foundation stage that is by Dreams and Design Building,” Harvey said. “It will be priced in the upper $400,000s.”

A new model sales office should be in complete in the fall.

Both builders are conscientious about building homes with the environment in mind. They build to Energy Star Standards and work with the HERS index to lower buyers’ heating and cooling costs and make sure the home is energy efficient.

“They have both been building in the area a long time,” Harvey said. “Because inventory in resale is low, building a home is a great choice. Plus, you can get your selection of homesite, you can pick your plan or custom build and get everything you want.”

Another exciting aspect about The Preserve at Clear Creek is phase two is just starting and there are 46 lots available. The price for lots in phase two will start at around $80,000. The hope is to have phase two completed in six to nine months.

“We see this area of Western Shawnee really growing,” Harvey said. “A lot of that has to do with the school district. The ability to be in the No. 1-rated school district and find a lot at a price that can accommodate a four-car garage, I think that is really hard to find.”
