Persimmon Pointe is a hidden Olathe gem
Located on an unspoiled corner of northwest Olathe at 127th and Hedge Lane, just one mile west of Kansas 7 highway, the community of Persimmon Pointe has a great deal to offer, and homebuyers are taking notice in record numbers.
Sales have been at a very brisk pace due to a variety of factors, including, most prominently, the fact that Persimmon Pointe is one of the few places in Johnson County where buyers still can find new, high quality single-family homes priced in the upper $200,000s and low 300,000s.
“We have had lots of buyers who would like to have a very nice home in Olathe, but they don’t want to pay upwards of $400,000 for new construction,” said community sales manager Cathy Drake, who markets the property with Teresa Acklin. “There are not that many places left in Johnson County, especially as Olathe continues to grow, where they can find such high quality homes for these more moderate prices.”
Prospective buyers will find 14 different spec homes built by Summit Custom Homes, Prieb Homes, Sallee Homes, SAB Homes, Dusselier and Marks Homes, and Chris George Custom Homes, some of the most well-known and respected homebuilders in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. They represent a combination of beautiful two-story, reverse 1-1/2-story and ranch plans, with four homes ready for immediate occupancy and additional inventory ready within 45 to 120 days, depending on the plan. There are also seven lots left for custom build jobs.
“As much as homebuyers weigh over their home’s potential location, they want to make sure they are teaming up with a strong developer and knowledgeable builders,” Acklin said.
The many different styles, options and finishes available to personalize a home to suit one’s distinctive tastes and needs can be seen by touring the model row, featuring three furnished model homes.
Another major draw to Persimmon Pointe is its close proximity to highways Kansas 10, Interstate 35 and Interstate 435, which provides quick access to shopping, dining, entertainment and job centers. Additionally, the community affords families a variety of opportunities to enjoy some of the best public parks and recreational facilities in Johnson County. Hundreds of acres of parkland and conservation areas in the vicinity ensure that life at Persimmon Pointe will never be far from nature’s doorstep.
Resident students are able to walk to new, highly-rated Olathe District schools. Located immediately south of the community is Prairie Center Elementary. Mission Trail Middle School is less than a mile west, and just one mile south of Persimmon Pointe on Santa Fe and Hedge Lane, a new state-of-the-art Olathe high school campus is now under construction and scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 school year.
“The impending opening of the new high school is really driving traffic to this part of Olathe,” said Drake. “We have people buying here from as far away as Basehor, Leavenworth, Gardener, and Leawood because in those places they are having a hard time finding something in this price point with such a high level of quality construction and upscale interior and exterior amenities.”
Community amenities include a pool and a cabana. The pedestrian friendly area also fosters a sense of community with the neighbors who, due to the diverse floor plans offered here, are a nice mix of young families, move-up buyers, empty nesters and retirees.
“We are proud of what this community has to offer,” Acklin said. “We invite everyone interested in purchasing a new home to act quickly on these incredible deals and to discover this hidden gem of Olathe.”
