Rodrock Development’s new Arbor Lake off to smooth sailing
Nestled in the rolling hills of Lenexa, around a pristine lake, sits one of Rodrock Development’s newest communities: Arbor Lake. Located at Prairie Star Parkway and Clare Road, this beautiful community is ready to make a serious splash with homebuyers.

Darol Rodrock Homes is building two of the community’s models, including the Abbey II, which, Kranz says, “is the most awesome reverse, with every feature you could want, including a ‘command center’ right off the kitchen that can be used as a home office. This home has two bedrooms and two full baths on the main level, while the lower level has a family room, two more bedrooms, and a full bath.”
The second Darol Rodrock Homes model, The Cassidy, is a soaring two-story home with huge windows, a fantastic flex room, and a command center on the first floor. “It has a massive master suite with romantic bath, along with three additional bedrooms, two full baths, and laundry room on the second floor,” Roberta adds.
But the fun doesn’t stop there, says Ann Knickrehm, a longtime Rodrock Development marketing agent. The Jameson by James Engle Custom Homes is an absolute home run. This 1.5 story has soaring ceilings, walls of windows, and extensive trim throughout. “They’ve been beautifully dramatic in the layout of this home, maximizing the square footage. Unlike many 1.5 story homes, the living space doesn’t suffer,” Knickrehm says.

The final house to round out the Model Row is the Riley III by Rob Washam Homes, which will house the Rodrock Development community office. Kranz, Knickrehm – and Rob Washam himself – are absolutely thrilled about this one-of-a-kind model.
“We are so excited about this fantastic home, which is a grand two-story plan with five bedrooms and four full baths,” says Kranz. “The large rooms and walls of windows fill this home with natural light. The beautifully enameled kitchen has a huge pantry and center island, while the first floor flex room is perfect for a bedroom or an office with an adjoining full bath. The second floor boasts a romantic master suite along with three large secondary bedrooms.”
“Over the last 18 months or so, we did a lot of research to find out what people really wanted and formulated this plan based on all of those comments from homebuyers,” says Washam. “We went to the architect, and this design has every single thing everyone asked for. I’ve been going through the home as it’s coming alive, and I can’t find a thing wrong with it. I’m every excited about it, and I can’t stay away from it. I think it’s going to be great for Arbor Lake.”
All of Arbor Lake’s stellar builders have made a huge commitment, since in addition to putting in a furnished model, each is putting in three spec homes, for a total of five models and 15 specs ready for purchase.
