The incredibly popular decorating duo Chip and Joanna Gaines are returning for this year’s Greater Kansas City Home Show at Bartle Hall, and Rodrock Development is beyond thrilled to be the presenting sponsor for what promises to be three days chock-full of the latest in design and homebuilding trends.

Held from March 18-20, the Home Show is your one-stop-shop to find solutions to all your design dilemmas, as well as find inspiration for homebuilding dreams. The show has been a Kansas City tradition for 67 years, and proudly presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (HBA), it is the city’s original home show. Every year, thousands of area homeowners attend for the latest in ideas and inspiration for their home.

And attendees are already excited about the return of Chip and Joanna, stars of HGTV’s hit show, “Fixer Upper.” The couple appeared to sold out Home Show crowds in 2015, and this year the Gaineses have even more in store.

Tickets are quickly selling in anticipation of their first speaking engagement at noon and 3 p.m. on March 19 and again at noon on March 20. Darol Rodrock is honored to kick off each of these sessions – sharing with audiences information about his developments, the building industry and building forecast, as well as developments at The Darol Rodrock Foundation – before introducing the talented twosome.

Chip and Joanna have partnered to flip, remodel and fix up homes for the last 13 years in Waco, Texas. Aside from their own active family, this energetic couple also run a real-estate company, construction company, design firm, residential subdivision, boutique home furnishings store and successful blog.

In an exciting addition this year, Darol Rodrock Homes will be building a tiny farmhouse – at about 700 square feet – which will be the perfect display piece to feature Joanna Gaines’ distinctive flair. Show attendees can tour the adorable mini abode and see firsthand Joanna’s decorative approach, which she categorizes as simple and classic, farm inspired, industrial and unexpected.

“We chose the farmhouse style as a credit to Joanna and Chip’s design style, and we will be furnishing it with items from the couple’s new furniture line from Magnolia Home,” says Brenda Sanders, President of Rodrock & Associates, Realtors.

The Home Show is always very well attended, and the HBA is expecting a large turnout to meet Joanna and Chip. There will be about 1,000 seats available for each of their presentations, plus standing room.

“I’m especially excited to see the tiny farmhouse come to life,” continues Brenda. “Our architect and builder team are already hard at work, and it’s going to be fantastic! I’m also excited to decorate it with some of the furniture that Magnolia Home has only recently launched. Show attendees are in for such a treat.”

Even better? “We’re considering auctioning off the furniture at the end of the show in order to raise money for The Darol Rodrock Foundation, which benefits local foster children,” Brenda adds.

Rodrock Development will also have a booth at the show, where attendees can learn more about the unparalleled 15 developments for which the company is renowned, its partnership with some of Kansas City’s top homebuilders, and the upcoming Spring Parade of Homes (held this year from April 23-May 8). Booth attendants will also be at the ready to share information about the good works The Darol Rodrock Foundation has been undertaking, in addition to ways everyone can help out local foster-care youth.

As if all this wasn’t a large enough draw, the Home Show is once again partnering with Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council, to bring back the rock-climbing wall and 25-foot tepee. The HBA expects the largest crowds to date for this year’s show!

“This truly is such a great event,” Brenda says. “It’s fun, informative, inspiring and just a fantastic way to jumpstart spring and the pick up of the building season. It’s the only place people can find everything and anything they need for the home, all under one roof. From home décor ideas to landscaping, appliances to mattresses, everything you could possibly need is here.”

Tickets can be purchased online at kchomes.com or at area Price Choppers in February.
