New homebuyers want as much space as their real estate dollar will buy, but square footage is just the beginning. Inspired Homes, Kansas City’s locally owned and operated home builder, offers expansive floor plans plus the most desired finishes and custom details that fit a busy family’s lifestyle and budget.

“Our innovative approach to home building becomes very ‘old school’ when it comes to space,” said Ernie Wassmann, president of Inspired Homes. “With so many builders, square footage has gone the way of the coffee can — it’s only 12 ounces now instead of a full pound, but the price is the same. With Inspired Homes, you get a full ‘pound of space’ for your money.”

“Even in our smallest floor plan, the master suite has a spacious walk-in closet and full bath,” Wassmann said. “Personal space is never optional in an Inspired Home.”

All Inspired Homes have 9-foot ceilings, separate breakfast areas, dens, hearth rooms and two- or three-car garages. Because homebuyers value storage, pantries, walk-in closets, laundry centers and basements are standard in all models. Finishes like stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops in the kitchen are also included, as are oil-rubbed bronze hardware and ceramic tile in the master bath.

“We use the highest quality products and the latest technology and industry processes to deliver the best price per square foot in the market,” said Dan Walsh, marketing vice president. “Homebuyers can personalize their home to meet their individual needs and preferences, so every square foot of space is designed for them and them alone.”

All Inspired Homes offer energy-efficiency products, including exterior walls built with 2 x 6 construction — compared with the industry standard of 2 x 4 — blown-in insulation that is 2 inches thicker and doesn’t sink to the bottom over time like standard fiberglass insulation, 95 percent efficient furnaces, power-vented, low-E water heaters, low-E glass windows, a basement system that prevents leaks, studded and insulated basements with drywall ceilings and much more.

“As local homebuilders — as local residents — it gives our entire team tremendous pride to provide Kansas City homebuyers with spacious, custom-built homes at an affordable price point,” Wassmann said.

Inspired Homes is currently building in Kensington Farms in Lee’s Summit and The Reserve in Lenexa. Model homes are also in development in Huntford in Olathe. It offers six two-story and three one-story floor plans starting at $198,000 with living spaces that range from 1,601 to 3,543 square feet.
