Six homes win 11 awards on Parade

During the Fall Parade of Homes, which continues through Oct. 18, SAB Homes offers a great sampling of floor plans, including a 1 1/2-story, three unique 1 1/2-story reverses and a two-story. These entries garnered 11 awards.

The new Stratoga floor plan is featured in two subdivisions. In Lee’s Summit, see the Stratoga at Eagle Creek at 2425 SW Hickory Lane, which won a Distinctive Plan & Design First Place and Pick of the Parade Runner-Up. In Olathe, visit 25567 W. 144th St. in Prairie Highlands, where it won a Pick of the Parade Grand Award. The Stratoga pairs the best of a two-story with a 1 1/2-story reverse.

Keeping the master bedroom on the main floor affords extra space upstairs for a loft. The main floor’s great room offers 11-foot ceilings and is open to the kitchen, which has a large island. This home also has a formal dining room and a breakfast nook, so there’s plenty of room for large gatherings. The covered deck and lower patio provide usable outdoor space for relaxing or entertaining.

The Wildwood at 5886 S. National Drive, Parkville, in Cider Mill Ridge at The National is one of SAB Homes’ newest floor plans and won Pick of the Parade Grand Award and Distinctive Plan and Design First Place. It is a 1 1/2-story ranch reverse with four bedrooms.

The great room features dramatic vaulted ceilings with rustic beams. The large formal dining room is open to the great room, making it perfect for dinner parties. The main floor features oversize sliders that provide access to the upper deck, where you can see The National Golf Club’s greens. An oversize kitchen has all the amenities you would expect, including upgraded honed granite, large island, gas cook top and generous storage options. A pocket office with sliding barn doors offers privacy and great views.

The main-floor master bedroom features its own private outdoor terrace, a four-piece master bathroom and a walk-in closet, outfitted with plumbing for a washer and dryer. Downstairs, are three additional bedrooms, two bathrooms and another laundry room. A bonus family room features a double-sided fireplace and oversize sliders to the lower level patio.

Also in Cider Mill Ridge is the Manitoba, a beautiful reverse 1  1/2-story plan with four bedrooms at 5903 S. National Drive, which won a Distinctive Plan and Design First Place and Pick of the Parade Runner-up. This floor plan was developed to take advantage of the wide lots in Cider Mill Ridge. The home is nestled into a hill, as many are in this subdivision.

On the main floor, you’ll find the great room with soaring ceilings, a chef’s kitchen, the master suite and an office or second bedroom. At the rear of the home are three large windows plus six smaller windows that span from the main floor to the lower level, which gives both levels plenty of natural light.

While everything you need is all on the main floor, the lower level offers all the extras to make this home truly special. On the main floor, the master bedroom has separate vanities and a large walk-in tiled shower plus an enormous walk-in closet.

SAB Homes’ Westhampton floor plan, which won a Pick of the Parade Grand Award and Distinctive Plan and Design First Place, is a popular ranch reverse 1 1/2-story. Downstairs, there are two additional bedrooms, full bath and a family room.
