There’s just something about fall: the cooler temps, the vibrant foliage and the almost instinctual desire to have a home that’s warm and festive. And what better way to find decor inspiration — or a beautiful new home — than the Fall Parade of Homes, which is returning to Kansas City from Oct. 3 through Oct. 18. Some 300 model homes are superbly decorated and primed to showcase the latest in building and home design.

Rodrock Development has an impressive 19 homes in the Parade. (The number was slated to be even higher, but homebuyers snatched up several homes before the Parade even began.)

Model homes are at the ready in 10 prestigious communities, including Grey Oaks in Shawnee; Southwick on the Lake in Overland Park; the Cottages at Woodridge in Overland Park; the Greens of Chapel Creek in Shawnee; and Grayson Place, The Hills of Forest View, Stonebridge Meadows, Stonebridge Village, Stonebridge Trails and Stonebridge Park in Olathe.

With a variety of floor plans and a broad range of price points, starting in the $270,000s, these homes offer just a glimpse of what’s available in a Rodrock community. Whether buyers are looking for immediate move-in availability, scouting for a woodland view or acreage zoned for horses, Rodrock Development delivers.

And as with all Rodrock Developments, each community is thoughtfully planned, laden with amenities and built to the exacting standards for which Darol Rodrock has been renowned for more than 35 years. With new inventory, new floor plans and quality builders, even the most discriminating buyer will be impressed by the Rodrock difference.

Olathe’s Stonebridge has seven homes throughout its four communities and its agents are thrilled to show off the best that Rodrock Developments have to offer.

“The Fall Parade is an exciting time of year, we have so much to offer at Stonebridge Trails,” said Joe Stephenson, a Rodrock Development marketing agent. “It’s great getting to showcase our homes and amenities to people who might not be out viewing if it weren’t for a homes tour.”

In Stonebridge Meadows, for instance, Ann Knickrehm loves the chance to let Parade-goers tour Chris George Homes’ Hawthorne II. “Everyone has loved the Hawthorne II plan,” said Knickrehm, a Rodrock Development marketing agent of more than 20 years. “The open living spaces, attention to detail, all of the ‘wow’ factors buyers are looking for in their first or their next new home … granite counters, beautiful tile surround in kitchen and baths, great work space, large pantry, beautiful trim detail and well-appointed master suite. This home also serves as our sales office, and what a gorgeous space to work in!”

In The Hills of Forest View, a run of three exquisite homes is on Parade. “This will actually be the fifth Parade for our particular model row,” said longtime marketing agent Bruce Stout. “On tour, we will have James Engle’s Laurel, a 1 1/2-story; J.S. Robinson’s Catalina II, a reverse 1 1/2-story; and Hilmann Home Building’s Chesapeake II, a reverse 1 1/2-story.”

“I always appreciate the Fall Parade,” Stout said. “It helps to create that excitement of building your dream home; details of the decor selections, meetings with the building company and overall progress from start to finish. It’s fun to meet the prospective customers and hear of their ideas, dreams, etc.”

It’s an excitement that Mike Slaven in Grayson Place shares. “We’ll have something for everyone on this Parade — three different styles of homes sure to fit any lifestyle.”

Grayson Place’s Parade entries include a reverse 1 1/2-story attached villa in The Blakley plan by Darol Rodrock Homes. Priced at $269,950, this fantastic home has two bedrooms on the main level, with a third bedroom downstairs next to a finished rec room.

James III Homes’ Newcastle II is a spectacular five bedroom, 4 1/2-bath, two-story home with an expansive main-level office, finished lower level and a covered deck with great views of the expansive green space to which it backs. This former Parade award-winner is beautifully appointed.

Finally, the Richmond by Gabriel Homes is Grayson Place’s new “Welcome Center,” and what a welcoming home it is. This four-bedroom, three-bath, stand-alone villa is priced in the $320,000s to $330,000s, with approximately 2,500 square feet. Two upstairs bedrooms and two downstairs, a finished rec room, walk-in shower and well-appointed kitchen with walk-in pantry, and beautiful decor are just some of the home’s highlights.

And this just gives the tiniest of hints at the rest of the Rodrock Development homes on Parade. There’s no better time to enjoy a refreshing walk through meticulously designed neighborhoods to see the finest in home building.

“We are so thrilled for Parade-goers to see all that Rodrock Development has to offer on this year’s Fall Parade of Homes,” said Brenda Sanders, president of Rodrock & Associates, Realtors. “The builders have all been working extremely hard to showcase their new floor plans, and the designers have done a great job featuring the latest trends. There is a great amount of inventory to tour, so there should be something of interest for everyone.”
