Canyon Creek offers large variety for Parade of Homes

Since Prime Development announced the opening of the fourth phase with 40 new home sites at Canyon Creek, hundreds of Parade-goers have visited the community to see its latest offerings.

Some of the Kansas City area’s most beautiful, rolling and wooded terrain is found in and around Canyon Creek. As housing construction burgeons in this revitalized Lenexa neighborhood, Canyon Creek is blossoming into a premier metropolitan community. With its newest phase, Canyon Creek provides homebuyers a vibrant lifestyle and a remarkable living environment.

For this year’s Spring Parade of Homes, Canyon Creek has entered nine homes for judging. Home builders entered are James Engle Custom Homes, Lambie Custom Homes, Roeser Homes, New Mark Homes, Todd Hill Homes, C & M Builders and Summit Custom Homes.

Last year, three of the model builders at Canyon Creek received 2013 American Dream Awards from the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City for their model homes at Canyon Creek:

•  Lambie Custom Homes, Cypress model, Grand Award.

•  C & M Builders, Wetherford II model, Grand Award.

•  James Engle Custom Homes, Laurel II model, First Runner-Up.

For homebuyers who need early occupancy, several spec homes are available for occupancy within 90 days and some are available in fewer than 30 days. Home prices range from the low $400,000s to $800,000s, with plans including two-story, 11/2-story and reverse 11/2-story designs.

Canyon Creek is a master-planned residential community comprised of more than 400 lots, thoughtfully planned with an eye for natural beauty. Over 70 acres of adjacent wooded parkland create a serene natural environment for the neighborhood.

“Response to the affordable lot prices and the wide selection of spec homes has been incredible,” said MaraDona Wood, co-marketer with partner Debbie Sinclair. “Prospective homeowners have been eager to take advantage of exceptional opportunities at Canyon Creek that became available only a few months ago. Lot reservations and home sales continue to increase as more and more homebuyers discover what Canyon Creek has to offer.

“With the opening of the new phase, customers’ interest and enthusiasm has surpassed our highest expectations. We are amazed by the level of customer interest and invite everyone to join in the excitement,” she added.

Canyon Creek offers a multitude of desirable home sites, including treed, lakefront, greenbelt, walkout and daylight lots. Over half of the lots are on private cul-de-sacs and over a third back to city parkland. Lot prices range from the upper $60,000s to the mid $100,000s.

In response to high demand, construction of the newest phase began last fall, consisting of 40 new home sites. Available now, this phase offers new lakeside and treed lots. Choice building sites are going fast, so customers must act quickly to reserve their preferred lot.

Following its lead, an additional 40 lots will be available late this spring. And if that wasn’t enough, Canyon Creek also has announced that work has begun on creating an eight-home, fully furnished model row.

Homes are situated on curving streets and private cul-de-sacs, carefully designed to respect the contours of the land and oriented to provide views of open space. Inside the neighborhood, visitors will find thoughtful residential enclaves that blend distinctive architecture with nature’s beauty to create a truly exceptional living environment.

Next to Canyon Creek, paved trails along the forested shoreline of 7-acre Mize Park Lake are enjoyed daily by resident walkers, joggers, bicyclers, fishermen and nature lovers.

Canyon Creek’s three-acre amenity complex exhibits a high standard for family-oriented recreation. A free-form pool, replete with a sparkling fountain, features a large swimming area with a shallow “reef ledge” at one side that welcomes children and parents alike. There is an expansive deck with ample room for sunbathers, a striking pergola and a handsome Prairie-style cabana building flanked by two covered porches that offer a shady reprieve from the sun.

Other recreational features include a park-grade playground, a basketball court and a large, open play field for recreational soccer, softball, Frisbee and football.

Canyon Creek has distinguished itself as the premier new home community in Lenexa, which itself received national recognition last year when Business Week magazine named the city as the “Best Place to Raise Kids” in Kansas. Located just off Kansas 10 highway, one mile west of Kansas 7, Canyon Creek provides quick and easy access to highway networks and proximity to dining, entertainment and recreational opportunities at nearby Lenexa parks.

When deciding to purchase a home in a Prime Development community, prospective buyers can feel secure they are investing in a Johnson County-based real estate company with a long-running, financially secure history. Prime Development’s success through good and trying economic times is rooted in a philosophy of providing the right product in the right location at the right price, and building distinctive neighborhoods that exceed customer expectations.
