“Life Begins at 55” is the motto for an exciting new residential community in Kansas City.

Located just off 67th Street between Rockhill Road and Troost, Brookside Senior Residences at Rockhill Greens is a 55-plus senior community with a great deal to offer.

This boutique community features 37 one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments and nine two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments. The rent is $485 per month and $575 per month, respectively.

Prospective residents here will enjoy a variety of independent living amenities, including all-electric, energy-efficient appliances; coin-operated laundry rooms on each of the three floors; a community room with a kitchenette; a fitness room; movie room; and a beautiful courtyard with a patio.

Jackie Putman, who leases the property for Flint Hills Management, said there are a lot of benefits to living here.

“For many people, particularly the 55-plus senior demographic, being close to lifestyle amenities is very important,” Putman said. “Brookside Senior Residences at Rockhill Greens is just a few miles from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Gardens, the Country Club Plaza and the Brookside neighborhood. So residents have access to a wealth of shopping, dining, cultural and performing arts and entertainment options close to home.”

The community is also a short walk away from the Research Medical Center Brookside Campus, which also has a comprehensive health and fitness center; the bus route; and several retail stores.

Residents can also take advantage of several beautiful walking paths throughout the community and feel secure knowing there is an on-site management company.

Brookside Senior Residences at Rockhill Greens is a Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development, an indirect federal subsidy program used to finance the development of affordable rental housing for low-income households. Trash, water and sewer fees are paid, so the only utilities residents are responsible for are electricity and cable/Internet, if desired.

Applications are currently being accepted, and the first residents are expected to move in Dec. 15.
