St. Jude Dream Home at Chapman Farms now open for free tours

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Summit Custom Homes are celebrating the grand opening of the 2015 St. Jude Dream Home at Chapman Farms this weekend.

The home will be open to the public for free tours on weekends beginning today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 12 to 5 p.m. Sundays. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s Fall Parade of Homes from Oct. 3 to 18. Visitors to the home can register to win a $10,000 shopping spree courtesy of Crowley Furniture.

The lakefront home, built by Summit Custom Homes, is at 121 SW Shores Drive in The Shores at Chapman Farms community, on the east side of Missouri 7 just north of Colbern Road in Blue Springs.

The 4,195-square-foot Dream Home is a two-story Templeton plan with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, incorporating a guest suite on the main level with its own bathroom, walk-in closet, and washer and dryer. The main level also features an optional sixth bedroom with dedicated bathroom, great room with fireplace and built-in shelving, and a covered patio off of the open-concept kitchen and dining area.

The upper level contains the master suite with a custom tile wet room, oversized closet with built-in seating and island, and a connected laundry room. Three additional bedrooms and two additional bathrooms are off of a vaulted loft space, which features a built-in media center.

Tickets for the raffle are available now for $100, and may be reserved at the Dream Home during tour hours, online at dreamhome.org or by calling 1-800-385-9756. Reservations will be capped at 7,500 tickets. In addition to the grand prize Dream Home, valued at over $600,000, ticket holders will be entered into drawings for additional prizes, including a $1,000 Visa gift card courtesy of All My Sons Moving & Storage and a one week stay at a condominium in Destin, Fla., courtesy of The Rob Ellerman Team at ReeceNichols. The Dream Home giveaway will take place on Oct. 15 on KSHB-TV 41 Action News.

2015 marks the tenth anniversary of the Dream Home program in Kansas City. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway has become one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital nationwide. To date, the program has raised more than $288 million for St. Jude. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food, because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

This is the second year Summit has built a Dream Home in Chapman Farms. The community offers homeowners exclusive access to acres of serene common areas and a multitude of recreational opportunities. At the center of the community is a 30-acre stocked lake that is ideal for fishing or kayaking. The lake is bordered by a one-mile fitness trail that features built-in fitness stations along the walking path.

Two move-in ready homes are available in the Shores: a 11/2-story lakefront Glenwood with 3,038 square feet, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and three-car garage priced at $479,950, and a two-story Bristol Ridge with 2,870 square feet, five bedrooms, four bathrooms and three-car garage priced at $391,000.

Another move-in ready ranch Sheffield is available across the lake in Lakeside with 1,773 square feet, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and three-car garage priced at $300,000.

A selection of other floor plans is currently under construction with time left to personalize design selections. Additional premium lots, including a limited number of lake lots, are available for those looking to build.
