Koehler’s home at Loch Lloyd nearing completion
Award-winning builder Brian Koehler, owner of Koehler Building Company, has enjoyed phenomenal success at the Village of Loch Lloyd. Over the years, he has built many custom homes for clients inside the gates at Loch Lloyd. In addition, he has built several model homes that won awards on the Parade of Homes and went on to sell quickly. In fact, the model he built last year sold the first day it was completed and open to the public.
Koehler anticipates his current model, on which he is putting the finishing touches, will also sell quickly. The reverse 11/2-story home in a secluded setting is fewer than 60 days from completion. Koehler entered it on the Spring Parade of Homes that runs April 26 through May 11.
The setting is one of the best features of this stellar home, Koehler said. It backs to a heavily treed area affording absolute privacy and is designed to take full advantage of its location. This home features stunning outdoor living space with two lanais. The lanai off the kitchen has a fireplace with space for a TV above it; the other is off the lower level.
Designed to maximize main-floor living, Koehler’s new home is very open and is perfect for entertaining. The centerpiece is a 17-foot tall stone fireplace in the hearth room, which also has wooden beams accenting the vaulted ceiling. The beamed, vaulted ceiling is repeated in the kitchen that has custom cabinetry, granite counters and an island. The rustic touches continue with hickory hardwood floors.
The luxurious main-level master suite features an expansive bathroom and master closet, along with a stackable washer and dryer. On the opposite side of the house is another bedroom that could be an office, also with its own bathroom. The third and fourth bedrooms are on the lower level.
The stone front elevation of this home has a Country French flair, in keeping with Loch Lloyd’s ambiance. The home is priced at $799,950.
Koehler Building Company is one member of Loch Lloyd’s builder team that the developers believe is the finest, most experienced builder team in Kansas City and includes Don Julian Homes, C & M Builders, Evan-Talan Homes, Cecil & Ray Custom Homes, Forner-LaVoy Homes, Lambie Custom Homes and Rick Standard.
“Our builders are focused on quality, on creating value for today’s discriminating homebuyer,” said Chuck Campbell, director of marketing for FiveStar Lifestyles, Loch Lloyd’s developer.
The new home sites at Loch Lloyd have been selling quickly with homebuyers and builders taking advantage of the opportunity to build on and around the new Tom Watson golf course. The lots range in size from one-third of an acre to more than an acre with wooded and golf views and are priced from $130,000 to $240,000, with 43 home sites already sold, well ahead of the developer’s lofty goals.
“Regarding our open models, it’s the classic good news-bad news joke,” Campbell said. “The bad news is that we were supposed to have four models available this spring, but instead we only have one completed at the moment. The good news is the other three sold before they were even finished, so we have three very happy families enjoying life inside the gates at Loch Lloyd.
“It’s no surprise lots and homes are selling so quickly,” he said. “The land is spectacular — wooded, hilly, lakes and streams, with amazing views of the new Tom Watson golf course that was sculpted into the valley below. This is the prettiest piece of land in Kansas City, not to mention that the new golf course is destined to be the finest test of golf in Kansas City, possibly the entire Midwest.”
Loch Lloyd is more than just golf, however. Residents enjoy a wide array of resort amenities inside the gates, including the state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming, tennis, formal and informal dining venues including a carryout option, the popular Garden Club, summer programs for children, a vibrant social fabric and a secured gate at the village entrance.
The solid reputation and financial strength of the developer, FiveStar Lifestyles owned by renowned entrepreneurs Neal Patterson and Cliff Illig, inspires buyer confidence.
“Loch Lloyd is the most successful new development in Kansas City today thanks to the vision and financial strength of the developer,” Campbell said. “Buyers want to invest in Loch Lloyd because they have confidence in the developer. They know buying or building a home in Loch Lloyd is a sound investment.”
Another aspect that has attracted homebuyers to Loch Lloyd is lower taxes. Campbell noted residents have a considerable tax savings when compared to living in Johnson County, but they are only five minutes from shopping and dining in Leawood.
“Leave the hectic world behind and embrace the healthy, active, yet peaceful resort lifestyle at Loch Lloyd,” Campbell said. “Come out this weekend to tour our model built by Cecil and Ray Homes, as well as the nearly completed Georgetown plan by Brian Koehler. Come see for yourself what makes Loch Lloyd so special.”
