Experienced Grisamore Real Estate Services eases transition to perfect home
Dee Grisamore knows moving takes a lot of work and involves a range of emotions. You need to find the home to fit your current needs, find financing, prepare your existing home for the market and sell it. And while you’re excited about the new home, you’re perhaps sad to leave the old one that holds years of memories and stressed about selling it.
But Grisamore, with the Grisamore Real Estate Services of Innovative Realty, who has more than 35 years of real estate experience, brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to make this transition smooth and fun. Not only does he have a background as both a buyer’s and seller’s agent, he has marketed, managed and sold more than 15 new-home developments as well as developed four residential communities.
Grisamore is aware of home sites and new-home communities that are available for building new homes, some of which are not yet on the market. He will act as the exclusive buyers agent to find the perfect home site, floor plan, specifications and builder to assure that his clients have a great experience in building their custom home. There is not a cost to the buyer for these services.
Grisamore, being one himself, caters to the empty-nester, active retiree market. He is married with two grown children, three grandchildren and two more on the way. He understands the many issues and questions involved in making the move to a different home that suits that lifestyle.
Grisamore’s extensive real estate background and connections in the home-building industry uniquely qualify him to help his clients. He can help people find the perfect amenities, floor plan, builder, architect, location, financing or home. After all, he has been working closely with all of those within the industry for many years. He is a member of the Home Builders Association, director of the Kansas Association of Realtors and a member of the government affairs committee for the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors.
Those attributes certainly were beneficial for sisters Marilyn Grauer and Karen McBratney. They bought a home together a few years ago, but were not happy with that buying experience or the home. Then they met Grisamore and had a totally different experience. He guided them in selecting a plan for a custom-built home in Tuscany Reserve Village, assisted in selling their home and helped them to find an apartment where they are living until their new home is completed.
“My sister and I met Dee Grisamore about a year and a half ago,” Grauer said. “We have bought and sold properties before, but the experience with Dee was remarkably different. His positive attitude and his willingness to do whatever it takes to make his clients feel at ease throughout the process is what puts him in a class of his own. He has always answered all questions promptly and completely. His expertise and professionalism is apparent and is greatly appreciated. He seems to truly enjoy helping people achieve their goals. We feel he has become a genuine and trusted friend. We highly recommend Dee to make your transition from the sale of your current home to your new home a pleasurable journey.”
Grisamore brings a special approach to smoothing the way for all his clients. “I minimize the frustration by setting clients up for success,” he said. “For example, rather than just connecting a buyer to an architect, I come ready with floor plans from which they can draw inspiration and to sit in on a meeting with the architect. So, when they meet with the architect they do not waste time trying to figure out what they really want or increase their expenses making changes.”
He uses his expertise to assist clients with the transition from their existing home and their move into the right home more quickly. Something as simple as staging or updating some features of an existing home can make the difference between a quick sale and something lingering on the market. He said it is all about knowing people and understanding their place in transitioning through life.
He just assisted a couple with such a move from their home in Overland Park to one they are buying in Leawood. Grisamore helped them find an existing home that fits their current lifestyle and negotiate buying it. He also listed their current home, prepared it for the market and sold it in less than a week, in addition to finding contractors to make some changes to the home they are buying.
In addition to helping people with their home buying and selling needs, Grisamore Real Estate Services works with numerous builders and developers in developing specifications for new home developments, prepares homeowners association documents and prepares marketing plans. His ability to bring together builders, developers, buyers and sellers to craft a quality custom home brings him the most satisfaction.
“When you match a prospective homeowner with the right builder and architect the result is nothing short of perfection,” Grisamore said. “That is one of the most exciting elements of what I do. A great builder will want to hear the client’s desires and translate that into a beautiful, functional and livable home.”
Such is the case with Tuscany Reserve Village in Leawood, where Grisamore is the exclusive broker marketing the community. Only one home site remains in this successful community. Willis Construction Inc., which has been building and remodeling homes in the Kansas City area for more than 45 years, is the exclusive builder. Each of the nine custom villas was designed by well-known architect Scott Bickford Design. Both companies have won numerous awards for their extensive work in the Kansas City area.
An open house from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the model home, 3322 W. 137th St., allows potential buyers of the remaining home site to see all the quality offered by Willis Construction Inc.
“I care about my customer’s needs as they advance through the many cycles of life,” Grisamore said. “Whether a first home, a second home as a client’s family grows, a retirement home after the children have grown, a vacation home, or even a relative’s home, my goal is to be understanding and caring. If I am able to make a client’s life more fulfilling and rewarding, I will have accomplished my goal.”
