Those interested in taking advantage of the final weekend of the Fall Parade of Homes are encouraged to visit any of the four Hunt Midwest Residential communities in the Northland where builders have 12 homes open to tour.

“There’s an above average number of homes on the Fall Parade this year,” said Jenni Mann, marketing manager with Hunt Midwest Residential. “This allows an excellent opportunity for those in the market for a new home or those looking for remodeling or redecorating ideas to see the latest in home design. The diversity of the homes in all of our communities is impressive.”

Woodneath Farms, located on Flintlock Road, just north of Missouri 152, is a must-stop for Parade enthusiasts. Among the five Parade entries is a two-story home by Klopfenstine Construction, a brand new design with extensive living space.

“What’s unique about this home is that it has a loft that is large enough for an entertainment or study area, as well as a second loft with room for a desk that could be additional study space or a place to pay bills,” said Nick Klopfenstine, owner of Klopfenstine Construction. “Few homes in this price range have one loft, let alone two.”

Another outstanding feature of this home is found in an upstairs bedroom that has two hidden play areas. “They are tucked behind the walls and have a low ceiling, great for kids but still big enough to be accessible by adults.”

This family-friendly home also has two drop zones off the garage, one with open cubbies for coats and a boot box for storing shoes, as well as a second drop zone with extra outlets for charging electronic devices.

Four other Parade entries in Woodneath Farms include a home by Aspen Homes, two by McFarland Custom Homes and one by Signature Homes. Home prices start in the mid $300,000s.

Benson Place, just across from Woodneath Farms on 96th Street, is one of the top-selling communities in the Northland and is host to three homes on the tour, including a Pick of the Parade Grand Award winner.

The first entry is a two-story plan by Aspen Homes at 8068 NE 100th Terrace. The home features custom trim and cabinets, hardwood floors and modern finishes throughout.

Summit Custom Homes is showcasing the Grand Award winner, a two-story plan at 8058 NE 100th Terrace that not only includes granite, a designer kitchen and wide-plank hand-scraped hardwood floors, but the builder’s signature Green Build Advantage.

The third Parade entry is the popular two-story Lexington plan by McFarland Custom Homes at 8050 NE 100th Terrace. The plan has been revised to include a more open layout, fresh, light paint colors and finishes and a stunning master bedroom retreat with spa-like bathroom.

Robertson Construction and SAB Homes have homes open to tour in addition to the Parade entries. Home prices start in the mid $200,000s.

Staley Hills, located on Shoal Creek Parkway just east of North Woodland, is home to two Parade entries including a reverse 11/2-story award-winning plan built by New Mark Homes.

Staley Hills’ other Parade entry was built by Sallee Homes. Also a reverse 11/2-story, the Terry remains one of Staley Hills’ most popular floor plans. Additional homes will be open throughout the community.

“We have a variety of completed two-story and reverse 11/2-story homes that also will be available to tour,” said Deb DiPonio, who markets Staley Hills with Sara Stucker for ReeceNichols.

Other builders with available homes in Staley Hills include Freeman Custom Homes, Olympus Custom Homes, Robertson Construction, Aspen Homes and McFarland Custom Builders. Home prices start in the upper $200,000s.

Northgate Village, a neo-traditional development in North Kansas City, is just east of Burlington Avenue and 29th Street. Offering a variety of living options that includes row homes, patio homes and single-family homes, the Parade entry by Aspen Homes is a ranch style bungalow designed with modern conveniences in mind.

“The single-family homes are low maintenance and have small yards that are easy to care for but the community has ample green space with pocket parks maintained by the homeowners association,” Mann said. “The patio homes and row homes are maintenance-provided, which includes lawn care and snow removal.”

Single-family homes start in the mid $200,000s and patio homes and row homes start in the low $200,000s.

The Parade of Homes, presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, runs through today and includes 307 entries across the metro. All homes are open to the public 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free. Participants are welcome to pick up a Parade of Homes guide at the Home Builders Association office or at any Parade entry. A searchable online guide is also available at kcparadeofhomes.com.
