Rodrock Development express appreciation, celebration at end of Spring Parade of Homes

It’s with sincere gratitude — and a touch of celebration — that the teams at Rodrock Development and Rodrock & Associates, Realtors call to a close the Spring Parade of Homes.

This year’s 52nd annual Parade was one of the most successful to date for the company. Not only was Rodrock thrilled to have an impressive four winning entries in the 52nd annual Parade, but its agents also reported throngs of visitors to the various Rodrock communities.

“This year’s Parade was outstanding,” said Brenda Sanders, president of Rodrock & Associates, Realtors. “More than ever, people came out in huge numbers to explore all that Rodrock communities have to offer. And people came ready to buy; this year’s Parade generated a number of sales. This truly was the most successful Parade we’ve seen in years.”

“We have sold three homes since the tour started and are working on a couple of others,” agreed Bob Sloan, a marketing agent for Rodrock communities for more than 20 years. “We sold two in The Greens of Chapel Creek and one in Grey Oaks. Traffic has been terrific. In fact, we ran out of Parade booklets during the second weekend of the Parade.

“We’ve seen considerably more traffic than last year, in large part due to more builders’ homes being available on tour this year. I also think there were more buyers out there this year, more people intent on making purchases.”

Other Rodrock communities felt the benefit of the increased traffic, including Stonebridge Meadows and The Hills of Forest View, both of which enjoyed sales thanks to the Spring Parade.

“This has been a wonderful Parade; we’ve really seen an impressive number of visitors,” said Bruce Stout, another long-term Rodrock marketing agent. “We have three homes under contract and another that should finalize this week.

“And the questions we were fielding from visitors during this Parade were more geared toward new construction than they’ve been in the past. Before, people seemed more interested in garnering ideas for remodels to their existing homes. But this time, we fielded a lot of questions concerning lot availability, builder information requests and more. We had a number of lots under reservation and people moving toward contracts.”

Rodrock marketing agent Linda Roberts agreed, adding “We have sold a couple of homes and just got a contract in this afternoon on a third one. I hope the sales keep marching in. Traffic has been steady throughout the week and extremely busy on the weekends. There’s a renewed interest in buying a new home. The resale market has picked up allowing those sellers to purchase another home. It is such a welcome sight, seeing the real estate business rebound in such a strong way.”

There were definitely a number of great houses from which Parade-goers could choose in some of the strongest Rodrock communities. Model homes were elegantly appointed and at the ready in seven prestigious neighborhoods, including Grey Oaks in Shawnee; Southwick on the Lake in Overland Park; and Grayson Place, The Hills of Forest View, Stonebridge Meadows, Stonebridge Village and Stonebridge Park in Olathe.

All four of the winning Parade homes were found in Olathe, with one in Grayson Place (119th Street and Lone Elm Road) and three found in The Hills of Forest View (24006 W. 124th Terrace). Each home offered a standout floor plan, the finest in finishes, and all the amenities and benefits of being located in a Rodrock community.

With a variety of floor plans and a broad range of price points, starting in the $260,000s, the homes on the Parade offered just a glimpse of what’s available in a Rodrock community. Whether buyers were looking for immediate move-in availability or searching for land with mature trees or acreage zoned for horses, Rodrock Development has something to offer.

And as with all Rodrock Developments, each community is thoughtfully planned, laden with amenities and built to the exacting standards for which Darol Rodrock has been renowned for more than 35 years. With new inventory, new floor plans and quality builders, even the most discriminating buyers were impressed by the Rodrock difference.
