When Ted Fick started making plans late last fall to relocate from Seattle to Kansas City, he was intent on finding new construction with convenient access to major arterials and shopping, in a neighborhood within 30 minutes of his job on the Country Club Plaza.
On Fick’s must-have list and timeline: a well-built, transitional craftsman style home with a main-level master suite and an open floor plan — ready by December.
The West Coast transplant happily found a JS Robinson home in Shawnee’s Ridgestone Meadows, a community whose signatures include a variety of floor plans, a rolling and wooded terrain and a secluded ambience, even though access is nearby to I-435 and Shawnee Mission Parkway. The home ultimately appealing to Fick’s lifestyle —which includes frequent visits from his adult children living in Minneapolis and Seattle — was the Catalina, a four-bedroom, five-bath beauty that satisfied his new-home checklist, including a luxurious, resort-style master bathroom; a spacious; walk-in master closet; walk-in closets in three of the four bedrooms; a gourmet-inspired kitchen outfitted with granite countertops and a walk-in pantry with plenty of storage; and an extra-deep, three-car garage, among other features.
JS Robinson: Homebuilding with the customer in mind. Fick’s real estate agent, Susan Palmer of ReeceNichols, understood his specific criteria and researched area homes that would potentially accommodate the executive’s needs. A frequent mover who has purchased 12 homes — six of them new — during his career, Fick considers himself a good judge on a customer-focused homebuilder.
“Susan introduced me to JS Robinson Fine Homes, a builder willing to make modifications to the already-finished Catalina in Ridgestone Meadows, which I appreciated, ensuring it was move-in ready when I closed,” said Fick, CEO of a local manufacturing firm. “Reflecting on my experience, the company’s customer service separates them from the others — it’s a personal, family-owned business that treats each buyer with high regard.”
Fick worked with Jennifer Harvey, Ridgestone Meadows community manager and real estate agent with ReeceNichols, and the JS Robinson team to make his new Kansas City residence everything he wanted, and more.
“A new home purchase is an important decision for me, and I imagine for most home buyers,” Fick said. “JS Robinson’s outstanding customer service, coupled with designs that are unique with lasting value, provide a winning combination.”
For more than a quarter century, JS Robinson Fine Homes, a full-service builder, has built custom homes in the Kansas City area. President Jeff Robinson is proud of the customer-centric philosophy that has ensured more than 1,200 families, like Fick, finding their dream homes, whether it’s building from scratch, with their own plans, or revising an existing floor plan.
“We build everything from ranches and villas to two-story, reverse and custom homes,” Robinson said. “Our number-one priority is listening to a customer’s vision to create a home with quality and integrity that will delight them for years to come.”
Current inventory in Ridgestone Meadows’ second and final phases. Harvey has lived in the community for 12 years. Primary reasons she purchased include the wooded home sites, beautiful hilltop views and proximity to shopping, dining, entertainment and Mill and Mill Valley High School, part of the acclaimed De Soto School District.
“More than 80 percent of Ridgestone Meadows’ home sites have trees and many even back to green space,” Harvey said. “JS Robinson, along with another award-winning builder, Rodrock Homes, creates spectacular homes, along with approved builders, to make this a truly distinctive community.”
Now in its final phase, Ridgestone Meadows offers eight move-in ready homes built by JS Robinson and Rodrock Homes, as well as a unique opportunity for buyers to choose from 23 extraordinary home sites, with 10 still available in Phase Two.
Spring Special: $10,000 in Ridgestone Bucks Through May 31st on Qualifying Homes. For a limited time, many of Ridgestone Meadows’ completed homes qualify for $10,000 in Ridgestone Bucks, allowing buyers to apply the money toward an outdoor living space, window treatments, closing costs or an upgraded refrigerator, among other options.
“This is an ideal time to buy a completed, turnkey home and move before summer starts,” Harvey said.
Make plans to visit during Spring Parade of Homes. Two JS Robinson homes and one Rodrock home are entered in the spring parade, which will kick off next Saturday, April 27, and run through Sunday, May 12. Last fall the builder’s Edgewood plan (available for immediate move-in) won two prestigious awards: Pick of the Parade Gold and First Place Distinctive Plan and Design.
