When Matt and Rachelle Hirsch decided to buy a new home, they were already familiar with Cedar Creek but hadn’t spent much time in the community. After they drove through the lush, inviting surroundings, they fell in love with the neighborhood and the rest, as they say, was history.

“It’s just a beautiful place,” Matt said.

Prospective buyers are invited to do their own exploring as the annual Parade of Homes kicks off this weekend. During this year’s event, Cedar Creek will showcase a number of homes that not only exhibit the talents and craftsmanship of the building team, but also the picturesque surroundings, resort-style amenities and architectural diversity that make Cedar Creek such a coveted place to call home.

During this year’s Parade, Cedar Creek’s newest neighborhood, The Crossings at Southglen, will take center stage. Located within a short walk of Cedar Creek Elementary School, The Crossings has proved to be a popular choice for homeowners thanks to a compelling combination of quality-built homes, appealing price points and a prime location within Cedar Creek’s resort-style setting.

The Fall Parade will feature seven new homes in The Crossings, which recently kicked off the second phase of home sites for reservations. Home site prices range from $68,000 to $87,500 for daylight, walkout and flat locations. This year’s Parade locations include:

▪  11103 S. Hastings St., James Engle Custom Homes.

▪  11104 S. Hastings St., Rodrock Homes.

▪  11121 S. Hastings St., Roeser Homes.

▪  11122 S. Hastings St., Meridian Homes.

▪  11139 S. Hastings St., Tabernacle Homes.

▪  11140 S. Hastings St., Rodrock Homes.

▪  24657 W. 112th Terrace, James Engle Custom Homes.

The Parade showcase continues in the aptly named The Woods of Southglen, which features lush, natural terrain amid aesthetically appealing homes. Explore a four-bedroom, 31/2-bathroom Windsor floor plan at 11502 S. Carbondale St. from Don Julian Builders, Inc.

As Parade attendees explore Cedar Creek, they’re encouraged to find out information on a number of speculative homes that are in varying stages of completion throughout the community. Or prospective homeowners can follow in Matt and Rachelle’s footsteps and work with one of Cedar Creek’s renowned builders (in their case, LDH Construction) to create a custom-built home.

Although the quality-built homes are undoubtedly the center of attention at Cedar Creek, the community’s impressive array of amenities is a close second. The amenities package includes swimming pools, tennis courts, a lake, a golf course, a fully equipped community center and more, all of which help homeowners feel like they’re on a permanent vacation.

Matt, Rachelle and their family have plans to use the amenities even more frequently next year. Between moving into the community and preparing for a family wedding in October, the Hirsches kept a busy schedule yet still found time to play tennis and go on frequent walks throughout Cedar Creek, an ideal way to get to know other residents and soak up Cedar Creek’s friendly atmosphere.

“Everybody waves,” Matt said. “It’s not like people are living here because they were transferred for a job and they’re going to move in a couple of years. For people in Cedar Creek, this is home — and we plan on staying here for a long time.”

Cedar Creek is served by the Olathe School District, including Olathe Northwest High School, Mission Trail Junior High School and Cedar Creek Elementary School. The community is also near St. James Academy, a Catholic high school.
