Tour new model homes in Eagle Creek and Timber Trails
Those planning to enjoy the Fall Parade of Homes are encouraged to kick off their tour in one of two Hunt Midwest Residential communities. Builders have been hard at work completing new model homes that will open to the public for the first time this weekend in Eagle Creek and Timber Trails.
One of the Eagle Creek’s Parade entries is the Cotton Creek plan by Summit Custom Homes. This 2,470-square-foot, two-story home features four bedrooms, 21/2 bathrooms and a three-car garage, priced at $333,950.
“It includes Summit’s proprietary Green Build Advantage, which saves on utility bills, provides a healthier place to live and employs environmentally conscientious building practices,” said Kevin Stucker, vice president of sales and marketing for Summit Custom Homes.
Eagle Creek’s other Parade entry is the Terry, a reverse 11/2-story plan by Sallee Homes.
“The Terry is a beautiful home with tall ceilings,” said Peggy Homes, who markets Eagle Creek with Carol Smetanka for ReeceNichols. “This plan is very popular and tends to sell quickly.”
In addition to the homes on the Parade, Eagle Creek has three completed inventory homes that also include one reverse Sullivan plan by Summit Custom Homes, a Windsor Hills two-story plan by Summit and a Laurelwood II two-story by Sallee Homes.
Also new to Eagle Creek is builder Chris Jeffries of JFE Construction who has joined Summit Custom Homes, Sallee Homes and SAB Homes as part of the community’s award-winning builder team.
JFE Construction has just begun building a reverse 11/2-story speculative home and a two-story home that will be part of model row.
“The model home will include wood feature walls and a curved staircase,” said Jeffries of JFE Construction. “Perhaps the most unique design element in the home is a sliding barn door that goes into the office. The new model should be open to tour by early spring.”
Jeffries said he chose to build in Eagle Creek because of Hunt Midwest. “Hunt Midwest is a great developer in our market today. It has strong financial backing and you know they will follow through with what they say they will do. They are adding a second pool at Eagle Creek and that’s going to be a huge asset to both current residents and potential homebuyers.”
Eagle Creek earlier this year opened a new phase of 60 home sites where nine inventory homes are under construction. Holmes said buyers have ample time to make decor selections for those homes that are in varying stages of completion.
Eagle Creek is situated on Pryor Road, which now has direct access to Interstate 470 and provides easy commutes to downtown Kansas City and Johnson County.
In addition to single-family homes, this mixed-use community includes maintenance-provided townhomes and land for future villas and neighborhood-friendly shops or offices. Hunt Midwest recently invested in new landscaping and monuments, enhancing the green space at the north entrance of the community.
Amenities include a swimming pool and recreation area, walking trails connecting to a 27-acre city park, a playground and acres of natural areas. Construction of a second swimming pool is under way and will open in summer 2015.
Those looking to tour homes a little further south are sure to enjoy Timber Trails, a master-planned community in Raymore, where exclusive builder Summit Custom Homes has three homes featured on the Parade.
The two-story Woodbury plan with 2,024 square feet of living space offers four bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms. The Pebblebrook, another two-story plan, has four bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms in 2,286 square feet and the Bridgewater is a 11/2-story plan with three bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms with 1,872 square feet.
“Our partnership with Hunt Midwest in Timber Trails provides a much needed supply of homes in a price point that was previously unavailable to consumers,” said Stucker with Summit Custom Homes. “These three showcased plans feature design elements that allow for very comfortable and convenient living.”
Stucker added that Summit is honored to build in a number of Hunt Midwest communities. “Hunt Midwest provides thoughtfully designed neighborhoods with impressive amenities that our homebuyers are looking for. Their dedication to the homeowners living in their communities projects a strengthening influence that stabilizes home values and allows families to feel secure when making a financial decision as large as purchasing a home.”
Timber Trails is in a growing area of Raymore on South Dean Road just south of Missouri 58 highway and east of Interstate 49. Floor plans include ranch, 11/2-story and two-story homes with nine unique and professionally designed interior and seven exterior finish packages. Homes start in the upper $200,000s.
Amenities at Timber Trails include a swimming pool and recreation area, walking trails and a playground. Students attend schools in the Raymore-Peculiar School District.
The Parade of Homes, presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, runs Sept. 27 through Oct. 12 and includes 307 entries across the metro. All homes are open to the public 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free. Participants are welcome to pick up a free Parade of Homes guide at the Home Builders Association office or at any Parade entry. A searchable online guide is also available at kcparadeofhomes.com.
