Greens of Chapel Creek scores big with verdant views, spectacular homes
Warren and Faye Hannah adored living in Rodrock Development’s Waters Edge in Shawnee, but sadly found that their house, which they’d built in 1998, no longer suited their needs.
“We thoroughly enjoyed Waters Edge, our neighbors, and watching the kids grow up, but our home got too big for just the two of us, and we wanted a master bedroom on the main level,” says Warren.
The couple looked for four months before deciding to call another Rodrock development—the Greens of Chapel Creek—home.
“We liked Shawnee, and actually the Greens was one of the first communities we visited, but since this is likely the last house we’ll purchase, we looked long and hard to make sure we found the right spot,” Warren explains.
The couple fell in love with a floor plan from James Engle Custom Homes, and they found the plan in several neighborhoods, but the communities just didn’t have that Rodrock feel.
“When we built our other house, people told us Darol Rodock built a quality neighborhood,” adds Faye. “We would go in another community, find the same floor plan, but wouldn’t love the neighborhood. So we returned to the Greens, because we liked the neighborhood and golf course.”
“What sold us was that we knew it was a Rodrock community, and Darol does a great job with his developments,” says Warren. “This was the fourth house we’ve built, and building with James Engle Custom Homes was by far the best experience ever.”
The Hannahs relish their home and the sights it provides. “You get views that are just breathtaking,” says Faye. “It’s very peaceful, the sunsets are incredible, and there’s not a lot of traffic.”
There truly is plenty to take in within the coveted streets of the Greens of Chapel Creek. Located off of 68th Street in Shawnee, Rodrock Development’s gorgeous golf-course community feels tucked away from the bustle of city living, yet is minutes from major metropolitan destinations.
And the community is bustling with impressive inventory, says community manager Nancy Lovell. Among them is the 2-story Middleton IV by Hilmann Home Building, with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths.
“We have two very desirable options, one on the fairway with a walkout design and the other backing to the golf course and lake in a quiet cul-de-sac,” says Nancy. “These two homes are wonderful for the young family who needs all the bedrooms on one floor.”
Also immediately available is the Chesapeake 2.1 UP, with 5 bedrooms (or 4 and an office), 4 bathrooms, 2 laundry areas, a huge loft area, separate playroom, a walkout, walk-up basement, and covered porch with stone fireplace.
Rounding out Hilmann Home Building’s offerings is the Chesapeake 2.1, a beautiful 4-bedroom, 3-bath, reverse 1.5 story perfectly situated on a deep lot, backing to the green.
Excitingly, James Engle Custom Homes’ Emery Reverse (at 6710 Arapahoe Drive) is offering $10,000 in upgrades with a signed contract by July 15th. With 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a covered deck on a walkout lot, this home is a family favorite!
“Also immediately available is the Everest II, which is highly desirable for the golfer, as it offers fantastic views of the fairway and a separate lower-level golf-cart garage,” says Nancy. “This reverse plan by Dream & Design Building has an outdoor kitchen with covered deck. A second Everest II is some 90 days out.”
Rounding out the impressive offerings is James III Homes’ Pinehurst, on a coveted cul-de-sac lot. This beautiful home is some 45 days out—so homebuyers can personalize some of the selections—and boasts an open 2-story floor plan and a covered patio with stone fireplace.
But the homes are really only the beginning of what makes this community so beguiling. In addition to Erfurt Park, the Greens of Chapel Creek also boasts a zero-entry infinity pool with fountain, changing cabana, and picnic area. As well, Rodrock Development’s Moms’ Council helps ensure a variety of community-building events, including July 4th bike parades, holiday hayrides, and more. And since the community is located in the award-winning DeSoto School District, the Greens of Chapel Creek is an ideal location for growing families.
And it goes without saying that a huge selling point for many a resident is the Shawnee Golf & Country Club, which offers not only one-of-a-kind views but also affordable club memberships. The club boasts a 27-hole championship golf course, four sets of tee boxes, aqua driving range, three swimming pools, tennis court, fitness center, and luxurious clubhouse.
“There are few communities with the combination of golf, beautiful vistas, swimming pool, community activities, and neighborhood friendliness,” says Brandilyn Thompson, community manager. “It’s an incredibly inviting atmosphere!”
