Family opts to upsize in same neighborhood: ‘We just love everything about it’

Sometimes you find a community that’s such a perfect fit that when the time comes to move, you simply find another house in the same neighborhood.

That’s exactly what Vicki Ozburn and her husband, Garry, did. After living in Kensington Farms for several years, they realized they needed more space.

“We’re a blended family and the house we originally purchased was meant to be our last forever home,” Vicki said. “But it only had three bedrooms and our daughter has three kids, so we needed to upsize.”

Vicki and Garry worked first with Whitney O’Reilly, New Home Advisor with Inspired Homes, then Kensington Farms Community Manager Kevin Lau to sell their home and build a two-story Merryvale. They opted to finish the lower level to give their family plenty of room.

“Inspired Homes builds a better home and the process was fun,” Vicki said. “I liked picking out the finishes and fixtures.”

Vicki said another reason they opted to move within Kensington Farms is the location.

“We love the community and the boys wanted to stay in the Ray-Pec school district,” she said. “It’s the best of both worlds. There’s farmland around, yet you can be in the center of the city in a matter of minutes. That’s what we love about it.”

There’s never been a better time to join the Ozburns in Kensington Farms. Steady demand for homes in this idyllic, family-friendly community has resulted in a number of homes ranging from move-in ready to available soon.

One move-in ready home, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch, is priced at $262,100 and qualifies for Inspired Homes’ new summer promotion. Purchase this home and close by August 30, 2018, to receive a $3,000 shopping spree at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Plus, you’ll be in your new home to start the school year!

Prospective buyers who prefer to follow the Ozburns’ lead and work with Inspired Homes to build a personalized home can select from several available homesites. Buyers can also select from a range of floor plans, including the just-launched Napa, a reverse 1½-story layout with 2,201 square feet of living space that starts at $269,990.

That exciting pace of construction activity — as well as Inspired Homes’ continual focus on meeting customer demands with new floor plans, an appealing array of standard features and an industry-best 2-10 warranty — encapsulates the Inspired Homes difference.

“This is why we created this business: to be able to provide a home and an experience to more of the market,” said Todd Lipschutz, president, Inspired Homes. “We have the opportunity now, between our existing communities like Kensington Farms, as well as our new communities that are starting this year, to grow that platform of an exceptional experience, great value and high quality.”

Kensington Farms residents enjoy several community amenities, including a swimming pool, cabana and playground. And there’s a good chance you’ll find at least some of the Ozburn family there!

“We’re closer to the pool now, so the grandbabies love that,” Vicki said.

And as Vicki pointed out earlier, Kensington Farms’ ideal location near Interstates 435 and 470 give residents easy access to entertainment, shops, dining and points of interest throughout the Kansas City area. Despite that close proximity, Kensington Farms is enveloped in 74 acres of green space, creating a lush backdrop and peaceful surroundings. Given all that Kensington Farms and the surrounding area have to offer, it’s no wonder Money magazine ranked Lee’s Summit one of the “100 Best Cities to Live In in the United States.”

“We just love everything about it,” Vicki said.
