If you haven’t visited the Village of Loch Lloyd lately, then the Spring Parade of Homes is a great time to do so. This annual showcase of new homes, presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, begins Saturday and continues through May 10.

Three members of the stellar Loch Lloyd home-building team are featuring homes during the Parade: Don Julian Builders, Tom French Construction and C & M Builders. All three have years of building success inside the gates at Loch Lloyd and have numerous awards to show for their efforts.

Don Julian, who has won more awards than any other builder from the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City during his 40 years in the business, is featuring a stunning $1.4 million reverse 11/2-story that truly captures the essence of the resort lifestyle inside the gates at Loch Lloyd.

Designed for entertaining, Julian’s home features a dramatic four-season room overlooking the private, wooded, landscaped back yard with a two-tiered fountain. As a true four-season room, the glass walls open on both sides allowing the resident to enjoy the weather at its best, yet is fully heated and cooled for the winter and summer. The four-season room spills out to the outdoor living space that includes a spacious patio with built-in seating, firepit and grill.

Julian’s home was designed with entertaining and functionality in mind. The main level has a warm, open feel that includes a full walk-behind bar nestled perfectly between the kitchen and hearth area for main-floor entertaining. The lower level has a large family room with a full wet bar and wine cellar, perfect for game days. Two laundry rooms were thoughtfully included, one on each level, preventing the lugging of laundry up and down stairs.

Tom French, who is a member of the HBA Hall of Fame and has 35 years of experience, is also featuring a reverse 11/2-story right next door to Don Julian’s home. Backing up to a beautiful wooded area, outdoor living space includes a covered porch with fireplace and a stamped patio with a seat wall for entertaining.

Two bedrooms are on the main level, the master suite that includes a luxurious bath, large walk-in closet and the laundry on one side of the house and a complete guest suite on the other that could be a guest suite or used for a mother or mother-in-law. The three-car garage is split, with two spaces facing one way and the third facing another, also allowing privacy for anyone in the guest suite.

The large family room on the lower level has a walk-behind wet bar. Custom cabinetry and high-end appliances in the gourmet kitchen make entertaining a breeze. This home is priced at $986,950.

The C & M Builders’ home also is a reverse 11/2-story plan with three bedrooms. The main level includes the master suite, and a flex room/study. The open main level has a dining room and great room overlooking the covered deck with a fireplace. An office tucked behind the island kitchen opens to the walk-in pantry. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms, a family room and a walk-behind bar.

These builders are part of the team at Loch Lloyd that also includes Evan-Talan Homes, Cecil & Ray Custom Homes, Willis Construction, Forner-LaVoy Homes, Rick Standard, Koehler Building Company and Rodrock Homes.

Seeing the Parade entries at Loch Lloyd is only one reason to visit. Another is to see the lifestyle, which offers its residents a wide array of resort-like activities in a peaceful setting. Once inside the gates, there is more time to spend with family and friends, for playing tennis, catching a fish, taking a yoga class, throwing a party, dining at the clubhouse with people you enjoy and making lifelong memories. It is a lifestyle that reinvigorates the senses, yet simplifies life — a lifestyle that allows you to make the most of each day and enjoy every moment.

At the center of the resort lifestyle is The Country Club at Loch Lloyd, where members play golf on the acclaimed Tom Watson Signature Design, and enjoy all the venues that encourage healthy lifestyles, such as the fully equipped fitness center, tennis courts and swimming pools. The club also offers formal and informal dining venues provided by the award-winning culinary staff.

Loch Lloyd residents and members enjoy a multitude of activities that foster a strong sense of community, such as the Garden Club, summer programs for children and a vibrant social fabric with events like wine tastings, deck crawls and festive celebrations of the major holidays throughout the year.

Not a golfer? Don’t worry – half of the residents at Loch Lloyd don’t play golf. They are drawn to Loch Lloyd by the resort amenities, the security afforded by the gates and the healthy lifestyle.

The security afforded by this gated community gives residents peace of mind, eliminating traffic concerns. In fact, the popular mode of travel is golf carts which are allowed everywhere inside the gates.

This idyllic lifestyle feels like it is far removed from the hectic city life but is actually only a few minutes from shopping and dining in Leawood and highway access. Visit Loch Lloyd this weekend. Drive through the gates just once, then you will understand what makes Loch Lloyd so special.
