Temperatures are heating up, and so is activity throughout Cedar Creek. Drawn by the picturesque community’s resort-style surroundings and prime Johnson County location, prospective homeowners are flocking to Cedar Creek to explore 15 architecturally diverse neighborhoods, not to mention the extensive amenities.

Interested in a sneak peek of what Cedar Creek will feature during this year’s Spring Parade of Homes, which kicks off April 25? Floor plans from several members of the community’s renowned building team will be open to tour. In The Crossings at Southglen, Parade homes include:

▪  11140 S. Hastings St., Rodrock Homes’ Irving two-story with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

▪  11122 S. Hastings St., Meridian Homes’ Avalon II two-story with five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

▪  11104 S. Hastings St., Rodrock Homes’ Wakefield two-story with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

▪  11103 S. Hastings St., James Engle Custom Homes’ Emery Expanded 11/2-story with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

▪  11121 S. Hastings St., Roeser Homes’ Chloe two-story with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

And in the Woods of Southglen, a lush, treed retreat, this year’s Parade homes include:

▪  11777 S. Barth Road, Tim Hoelting Homes’ Seville reverse 11/2-story with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

▪  11502 S. Carbondale St., Don Julian Builders’ Windsor two-story with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms.

Throughout the community, a number of speculative homes are in progress to accommodate a variety of move-in timelines. Families searching for their dream home will find several opportunities within Cedar Creek’s newest neighborhood, The Crossings at Southglen, an ideal choice thanks to the neighborhood’s thoughtful location that’s across the street from Olathe schools and a short stroll away from one of Cedar Creek’s community swimming pools.

Prices range from $391,000 to $438,000 and feature a number of floor plans, including two- and 11/2-story layouts. For prospective homeowners considering a move to The Crossings at Southglen, now’s the perfect time. Homeowners who purchase a speculative or custom-built home in the neighborhood from now through May 31, 2015, will receive 12 months’ worth of HOA dues for free.

Several homes are available in the Woods of Southglen, including plans by Tabernacle Homes, KC Building Co., Don Julian Builders and Roeser Homes. Current speculative home prices range from the mid-$400,000s to more than $600,000.

In luxurious North Shore Estates, which offers proximity to the 65-acre Shadow Lake, Don Julian Builders has a four-bedroom, 11/2-story custom floor plan with a three-car side-entry garage priced at $859,900.

In Shadow Highlands, Roeser Homes is working on a spacious four-bedroom, 31/2-bathroom Carter floor plan that offers a generous 3,204 square feet of living space and is priced at $579,175.

And in Retreat of Hidden Lake, Keystone Builders is within 90 days of completing a luxurious five-bedroom, 31/2-bathroom, 11/2-story home priced at $849,500.

Prospective homeowners can also follow in Matt and Rachelle Hirsch’s footsteps and work with one of Cedar Creek’s celebrated builders (in their case, LDH Construction) to create a custom-built home on a selection of home sites available throughout the community.

There’s not much better than ending a day with a stroll around the rippling waters of Shadow Lake or kicking off a leisurely Saturday with a round of golf at the award-winning Shadow Glen Golf Club. The resort-style surroundings of Cedar Creek offer these amenities and much more, creating a vacation-like retreat for homeowners.

In addition to Shadow Lake and Shadow Glen Golf Club, homeowners enjoy a free-form swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts, a second swimming pool in the Southglen neighborhood, jogging and walking trails, the Swim & Racquet Club and an indoor gymnasium that’s equipped for basketball, volleyball, aerobics and a performance stage, the perfect place to escape when the weather is being less than cooperative.

“We can’t imagine living outside of Cedar Creek,” said resident Rhonda Heatwole. “It’s a great place to call home.”

Cedar Creek is served by the Olathe School District, including Olathe Northwest High School, Mission Trail Junior High School and Cedar Creek Elementary School. The community is also near to St. James Academy, a Catholic high school.
