Downtown real estate firm celebrates giving year-round
The holiday season is the perfect time to not only give thanks, but to also reach out and help those in need. Throughout the year, Boveri Realty Group has continued a beloved annual tradition of giving. Each quarter, agents donate a portion of every real estate transaction to a selected charity. Then, Boveri Realty Group matches each quarterly donation to provide even more support to the receiving organizations.
In addition to Boveri and its agents making monetary donations to the selected charity, they hold drives to collect items most needed by the charity, do volunteer work and schedule tours of the charity. Well over 30 charities have been selected thus far, ranging from abuse shelters to support networks for those battling chronic illnesses.
Boveri Realty Group has recently supported Gilda’s Club Kansas City (www.gildasclubkc.org), the mission of which is “to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.” To do that, Gilda’s Club Kansas City provides members with comprehensive resources, including emotional support and education, that are designed to help those diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families and close friends.
“At Gilda’s Club Kansas City, people with cancer join with others to learn they are not alone by participating in educational workshops, healthy lifestyle programs and social activities, as well as professionally led support and networking groups,” according to the organization. “Our program is free of charge and designed as a complement, not an alternative, to conventional medical care.”
Another recipient of Boveri Realty Group’s quarterly donations and support is Sheffield Place (www.sheffieldplace.org), which empowers homeless mothers and their children to heal from their trauma and, later, become self-sufficient. Since opening its doors in February 1991, Sheffield Place has helped more than 1,000 families in their journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The organization has embraced a commitment to trauma informed care and trauma recovery as a critical first step in healing, which “demonstrates [Sheffield Place’s] firm conviction that the underlying trauma of each client’s life must be addressed for healing and self-sufficiency to occur,” according to the organization.
Gillis House, now part of a five-agency resource called Cornerstones of Care (www.cornerstonesofcare.org), was another recipient of Boveri Realty Group’s assistance. Earlier this year, five agencies—Gillis, Healthy Families, Marillac, Ozanam and Spofford—united as Cornerstones of Care to offer a wide range of services to children and families. These include education through therapeutic day schools that help K-12 students with emotional and behavioral disorders; substance abuse treatment and integrated health services; foster care and adoption resources; and crisis intervention and protection for children and youth in the child welfare system, among other services.
And Boveri Realty Group’s giving isn’t over for the year. As the holiday season continues, the firm’s agents united to provide full Thanksgiving meals for two local families, complete with all of the delicious fixings. Plus, Boveri Realty Group agents will provide Christmas gifts for a local family.
Christina Boveri, owner of Boveri Realty Group, said the opportunity to give back throughout the year is one that the firm doesn’t take lightly.
“In our day-to-day work, we’re committed to helping our clients find their homes in and around downtown Kansas City,” Boveri said. “At the same time, we want to do everything we can to improve the community that’s been so good to us.”
Boveri Realty Group is a downtown residential expert and has been leading the way since the resurgence in downtown living over a decade ago. Since the company’s inception in 2004, its focus has been on helping people find their ideal homes in the urban core.
“We’re here for the long haul to bring people downtown,” Boveri said. “We focus on one thing and we do that to the best of our ability.”
To date, Boveri Realty has brought more than 4,000 households to Kansas City’s urban core. Boveri’s customer base includes buyers moving to the metropolitan area from the surrounding suburbs and many moving to Kansas City for the first time. From empty-nesters to young professionals — and everyone in between — the demand for downtown living continues to grow.
Nick Benjamin, executive director of the Power & Light District, praised Boveri Realty Group’s dedication to downtown. “Boveri Realty has been a great partner to the Power & Light District and to downtown as a whole, helping to bring thousands of new residents to Kansas City’s revitalized urban core. On a personal note, if I have any questions about the downtown real estate market, I always turn to Boveri first.”
The company also offers a leasing division, which helps place those seeking rental living spaces in any number of leased properties throughout the downtown area and helps property owners find ideal tenants.
In addition to sales and leasing, Boveri Realty Group also has the niche for commercial spaces in the urban core.
“We are constantly educating ourselves on commercial spaces available downtown and have the ability to find the perfect fit for businesses, retail and restaurants alike,” Boveri said.
The company’s latest addition of services includes property management for individual owners leasing their properties. Grand Slam Property Management offers everything from full service to a la carte services, assisting those out-of-town owners who are leasing their spaces. Boveri Realty Group also offers a number of investment properties, which are becoming increasingly popular with both local and out-of-town investors as Kansas City’s popularity continues to skyrocket.
Boveri’s commitment to downtown has not gone unnoticed. She was named to the list of 2009 Most Influential Women CEOs and was honored by the Downtown Council as a 2008 Urban Hero for her continued commitment to improving the image and economic viability of downtown Kansas City. Boveri Realty Group was separately recognized by the Downtown Council for its ongoing commitment to downtown.
