Villas of MariMack allows buyers to ‘age in place’
One can never have too much of a good thing, or at least that is the feeling at the Villas of MariMack. The maintenance-provided golf community in Kearney is offering reasonably priced homes starting from the $180,000s.
One of the biggest draws to The Villas of MariMack is that they are traditional detached homes with very few of the challenges associated with home ownership. Additionally, Kearney property taxes are some of the lowest in the area, which makes living in the community very economical compared to other areas in Kansas City.
Exterior design features encompass low-maintenance vinyl siding with stone and stucco facades, decks, patios and in-ground sprinkler systems. The homeowners association operates the in-ground sprinkler system. It also pays for watering and lawn care during warm weather and snow removal in the winter.
Standard interior design elements in these luxury villas include custom-built cabinetry, wood floors, ceiling fans and gas fireplaces. The homes are also some of the first in the area to boast universal design concepts as standard features.
“These universal design concepts allow people to ‘age in place,’” said marketing agent Brad Brown of RE/MAX Advantage “That is very important to many homebuyers today, particularly empty-nesters and retirees.”
These features include wider doorways, zero (no-step) entries through the front door and garage, wheelchair accessible pantries and large, wheelchair-accessible tile showers in the master bathroom with no steps.
“These homes are designed so that homeowners will feel secure in the fact they will never need to move, unless they choose, should their accessibility needs change,” Brown said. “These are very important aspects in finding a home truly designed to meet their needs, desires and lifestyles.”
First Choice Custom Homes is offering a new version of its very popular Micha floor plan in The Villas of MariMack.
“This floor plan is very open and has a great kitchen,” Brown said. “The builder has even moved the microwave to the lower cabinets to be sure it is always accessible.”
Several versions of the Micha are currently under construction. One boasts a finished walkout basement, granite counter tops and numerous optional upgrades.
The Villas are reasonably priced ranging from the $180,000s to $240,000s.
Homebuyers seeking a traditional single-family home may opt for a home in the recently announced Estates of MariMack. The Porter Communities development will offer traditional single-family lots backing to the Club at MariMack golf course.
“These lots will have a great view of the course and most of them will accommodate a walkout basement,” said Craig Porter of Porter Communities. “We expect to have these lots ready sometime in June but we are currently taking reservations for those wanting to get their choice before they are gone.”
Located east of Interstate 35, The Villas and Estates of MariMack are only a short drive to nearby hospitals, major sporting complexes and shopping districts throughout the metropolitan area.
Kearney’s small-town atmosphere allows residents to get to know their neighbors, but also provides a cornucopia of essential services that include restaurants, grocery stores, service stations, automotive repair and parts stores, doctor and dentist offices, banks, specialty shops and the award-winning Kearney School District.
