Arbor Ridge offers small town living close to the big city

An array of architectural home designs and plans, 30 acres of green space and wooded areas, and small town living near the big city are just the beginning of what prospective homebuyers will find at Arbor Ridge.

Located in De Soto just north of Kansas 10 and Kill Creek Road, Arbor Ridge is nearing the end of the first building phase encompassing 43 homes when complete. The custom and spec homes here are being built by several notable Kansas City area homebuilders.

There is a variety of approved homebuilders, “so there are no cookie cutter homes here,” said Bob McCoy, who markets the community for Keller Williams Real Estate. “Because of this, there is a distinct feel when you walk or drive through the neighborhood.”

Among them is Premier Home Builders, possessing over 50 years of combined experience in the home building and residential markets. The company currently has two beautiful spec homes under construction. The first is a multi-level, four-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-car garage home with high-end features including hardwood floors, granite countertops, a stone fireplace, vaulted beam ceilings, and a deck off the dining area.

The second is a 1-1/2-story, four-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-car garage home with an open floor plan, a formal dining room, office, covered porch and patio and potential interior variations that can include up to six bedrooms.

Both homes, priced at $345,000 and $390,000, respectively, range from 2,200 to 3,000 square feet and will be completed and move-in ready between mid-August and early September.

“With prices starting in the low $300,000s these homes, as well as the others in Arbor Ridge, offer a great deal of house for the money,” McCoy said. “Interested buyers still have time to buy and make their own interior and exterior design and color selections.”

This hidden Johnson County gem has proven attractive to a wide range of residents from move-up buyers to young families and empty nesters.

The location is another big draw for prospective buyers here. In town, residents and visitors alike will find all the lifestyle amenities one would expect in a larger, busier suburban area, including several banks, a brand-new Harps Foods grocery store, veterinary clinic, daycare center, pharmacy and locally-owned and fast food restaurants.
