The 20,000 square feet of indoor amenities include a billiards room, an extravagant temperature-controlled wine cellar with private lockers and a tasting room.

A beautifully decorated lounge, along with an elegant fireplace, enhances the sitting room and cigar parlor. All homeowners in the building have access to the media lounge equipped with flat-screen televisions, an inviting bar area, a chic demonstration kitchen and spacious party room. “They are a social group and have lots of events, from football watch parties to summer pool-side parties and barbecues,” Littman said.

He was quick to add that he truly enjoys working with the residents. “I love coming to work. The people are friendly and this building is such a Kansas City landmark.”

McKinnon, who has years of experience as a building engineer in hotels, also enjoys working at One Park Place. He can be found anywhere and everywhere in the building and throughout the grounds, from the roof to the driveway and beyond, ensuring all systems are humming along.

“I tour the building and walk the grounds every day making sure that everything is working and fixing anything that needs to be fixed or calling someone to do it if I can’t,” McKinnon said.

He was overjoyed to become the building engineer at One Park Place a year and a half ago. “I’ve always loved this building. I drove by it for years and liked the architecture. And I’ve researched its history because I find it interesting. You can see for miles from any point in the building. When I’m on the roof, it’s incredible how far I can see.”

Although McKinnon’s responsibility is the public areas of One Park Place, he also answers residents’ questions about their individual units when he has time.

“I enjoy seeing the residents daily and providing customer service,” he said.
