New-home buyers are taking notice of a hidden gem, Persimmon Pointe, that is nestled in a quite corner of northwest Olathe, and all it has to offer. Nearby parkland and great Olathe schools have inspired buyers to be quick to act on incredible deals offered for new homes at Persimmon Pointe.

As Johnson County has grown over the past few decades, prices of new homes in Olathe have risen steadily. In 2012, the average price of a new home in the city rose to over $340,000. Today, Persimmon Pointe is one of the few places in Johnson County where buyers still can find new single-family homes priced in the upper $200,000s, and with land values and building costs on the rise, it could be one of the last.

According to the Persimmon Pointe community sales managers, Teresa Acklin and Cathy Rew, sales have been especially strong during a time when the market typically slows. Last month four families chose Persimmon Pointe for their new home. With completed homes available immediately and choice lots still remaining, the time to act is now.

Diverse inventory. Persimmon Pointe’s model home builders, Summit Custom Homes, Prieb Homes and Sallee Homes, are among the best-known home builders in the Kansas City area. From their portfolios of dozens of house plans, customers can choose from many different styles, options and finishes to personalize homes to suit their distinctive tastes and needs.

“We are proud of what this community has to offer,” Acklin reported. “Where else can a new-home buyer find great value, great location and diversity of product, all at an affordable price? Persimmon Pointe is one of the only new-home communities at this price range to display three fully-furnished models.”

In addition to touring the model row, visitors will find nine new spec homes available immediately or in varying stages of completion. They represent four two-story plans and two reverse 11/2-story plans, priced from the $280,000s to the low $300,000s.

To stay ahead of market demand, six to eight new reverse 11/2-story spec homes are now under construction, with completion expected by late spring or early summer. Summit Custom Homes recently purchased three more lots to begin construction of ranch and reverse 11/2-story spec homes and Prieb Homes plans to start two more of its ever-popular Harlow II plan.

Scheduled to break ground soon, SAB Homes is anticipated to debut a newly designed 11/2-story plan, not found elsewhere in the Kansas City market.

“We are pleased to have SAB Homes join our list of notable builders,” said Rew. “By bringing new 11/2-story and reverse 11/2-story plans to Persimmon Pointe, our neighborhood will truly have a house design for everyone.”

More than a home. Persimmon Pointe is located in an unspoiled corner of northwest Olathe at 127th and Hedge Lane, just one mile west of Kansas 7 Highway. Its proximity to highways Kansas 10, Interstate 35 and Interstate 435 provides quick access to shopping, dining, entertainment and job centers, but that’s not the only reason why buyers move there.

Acklin reports that Persimmon Pointe is attractive to buyers not only because of its easy access to highway networks, but also for its rural surroundings.

“Many customers come from Gardner and Spring Hill looking for a new home that’s closer to work, without sacrificing the small-town feel,” she said. “They love the rural feeling, the rolling landscape and peaceful countryside.”

Living at Persimmon Pointe affords families a variety of opportunities to enjoy some of the best public parks and recreational facilities in Johnson County. Hundreds of acres of parkland and conservation areas in the vicinity ensure that life at Persimmon Pointe will never be far from nature’s doorstep.

Vicinity to schools. Living in Persimmon Pointe, children are never far from home. Resident students can walk to new, highly rated Olathe District schools. Located immediately south of the community is Prairie Center Elementary. Mission Trail Middle School, home of the Timberwolves, is less than a mile west, and just one mile south of Persimmon Pointe on Santa Fe and Hedge Lane, a new state-of-the-art Olathe high school campus is now under construction and scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 school year.

Persimmon Pointe invites everyone interested in purchasing a new home to come discover this hidden gem of Olathe.
