There’s a lot of digging going on around Kansas City and it has nothing to do with snow. Due to high demand, Inspired Homes, the area’s newest locally owned-and-operated home builder, is expanding. It is constructing model homes in more neighborhoods and opening two new exclusive communities in Kansas next month.

“We’re proud of the homes we build and grateful that the Kansas City market has embraced their exceptional value,” said President Ernie Wassmann. “We use the highest quality products and the latest technology and industry processes to deliver a fundamentally different home to this market.”

Inspired Homes custom builds homes in its premier communities — with the finishes, space and storage homebuyers want and with the architectural style and interior layout they prefer — in just 90 working days.

Its team is currently building homes at Kensington Farms in Lee’s Summit, ranked by Money Magazine as one of the “100 Best Cities to Live in the United States;” and The Reserve in Lenexa, which offers a quiet lifestyle with all of the conveniences of nearby Kansas City.

Model homes are also slated to open next month in two new communities, Huntford in Olathe, close to nature and local historical attractions, as well as all the shopping, dining and premier entertainment of Kansas City; and Whispering Pines, a forest retreat experiencing amazing growth in Kansas City, Kan.

“All of our communities are in established neighborhoods with their own personalities and unique amenities in sought-after school districts,” said Vice President Dan Walsh. “Residents have access to beautiful parks, walking trails, community centers and nearby shopping and entertainment.”

All four neighborhoods offer two-story and ranch floor plans starting in the $200,000s with living space that ranges from 1,600 to 3,500 square feet.

“Inspired Homes offers expansive floor plans plus the most desired finishes and custom details that fit any family’s lifestyle and budget,” said Walsh. “Homebuyers can personalize their home to meet their individual needs and preferences, so every square foot of space is designed for their life.”

All Inspired Homes offer energy-efficiency products, including exterior walls built with 2-foot by 6-foot construction, compared with the industry standard of 2-foot by 4-foot; blown-in insulation that is 2 inches thicker and doesn’t sink to the bottom over time like standard fiberglass insulation; 95 percent efficient furnaces; power-vented, low-E water heaters; low-E glass windows; a dry-basement system that prevents leaks; insulated basements with drywall ceilings; and much more.

Inspired Homes spec homes are also under construction in neighboring StoneGate Reserve in Overland Park.

“We’ve all lived in Kansas City for a long time and our entire team is extremely excited to provide spacious, custom-built homes at an affordable price point to communities throughout the region,” said Wassmann.

And if the residential construction forecast in Kansas City is any indication, the Inspired Homes team won’t be slowing down any time soon. Through 2018, local home building is expected to enjoy a stronger-than-average annual growth rate of 13.4 percent, according to the Kansas City Chamber’s 2015 Economic Forecast.
