Even though the weather has cooled down, one fact still remains: Hydration is important. And, while keeping your pantry and fridge stocked with bottled water never hurts, there’s a more eco-friendly way to keep the H2O flowing — and that’s the Brita Metro Water Filter Pitcher, which is currently on sale for 32% off thanks to Black Friday.

This Brita pitcher holds up to six cups of water, making it ideal for smaller households. You’ll get one complimentary filter along with the pitcher, and the Smart Filter Alert on the lid will let you know when it’s time to change it out. (For best results, you’ll want to replace the filter every 40 gallons, or approximately every two months.)

The included filter utilizes activated carbon and ion exchange resin to reduce contaminants, such as copper, chlorine, cadmium and mercury, and improve the overall taste of tap water. To install the filter, start by flushing it with water for 15 seconds, then insert it securely into the reservoir of the pitcher. From there, you’ll fill the pitcher with water and discard it three times. (Or, better yet, save the water for your houseplants.) When that’s done, your Brita pitcher will be ready to use.

One of the main perks of this pitcher is the fact that it’s both eco-friendly and cost-effective. In fact, the brand states that this pitcher can “replace up to 1,800 single-use plastic water bottles a year.” Reviewers on Amazon praise the pitcher’s sleek design, ease of use and the fact that it easily fits into most refrigerators.

One thing to note: Brita recommends washing its pitchers by hand with mild detergent, rather than placing them in the dishwasher. (And make sure you remove the filter from the pitcher before washing it.) But as long as you don’t mind a bit of elbow grease every once in a while, this Brita Metro Water Filter Pitcher deserves a spot in your kitchen — especially given the current Black Friday sale price.
