Bethenny Frankel Reveals Reason She 'Stopped Recording' New Podcast Episodes
Bethenny Frankel has ended her "Just B" podcast - and for a good reason.
"I stopped recording my podcast," Frankel, 55, revealed in a Friday, July 10, TikTok video, noting she ended her iHeartRadio contract as a result. "I called iHeart and asked them if I could get out of my contract. Now, they have been incredible partners … [and] they've let me do my thing, they've been great."
Frankel debuted "Just B" in 2020 to interview various celebrity guests.
"I rated exactly the same if I was talking to Matthew McConaughey or Hillary Clinton as I did if I was talking about French fries," she recalled of her episodes. "While it was great to have a place to talk about divorce and death and experiences, I found it shackling."
According to Frankel, recording her podcast felt like a similar experience to her talk show hosting duties. (Bethenny aired for one season in 2012.)
"You're directing traffic, [and] I didn't like reading ads," the Real Housewives of New York City alum added on Friday. "I like to be in the wild, I like to be talking about business and doing appearances in front of large groups of people."
Frankel succinctly noted that she also "didn't like" sitting in a chair to record episodes every day.
@bethennyfrankel I really have gotten to a place where I don't want to do anything I don't want to do… The podcast is still available to listen to, there will just not be any future episodes xoxo@@iHeartRadio#podcast
"I used to push for video, and I was told the video doesn't really move the needle. If I think about it, every time I watch a clip on social [media] about a podcast … it doesn't make me go listen to the podcast," she acknowledged. "I've never been a podcast listener, [and] I like the time in my day back."
While Frankel claimed she "left a lot of money on the table" as a result of ending her podcast deal, though she noted she has no issues with the iHeart network.
"I just didn't want to do it," Frankel stated. "[My absence] leaves more room for people that are excellent at it and iHeart, love you guys. You're amazing and patient because I cancel nothing, I'm late for nothing and I would every day be, sort of, dragging ass and I just didn't love doing it."
Frankel further joked that her podcast conclusion instead gives her "more time to talk about chicken salad" with her TikTok followers. The Skinnygirl founder created a "Chicken Salad Olympics" series via her page earlier this month, where she ranked different recipes.
"You must try foods next to each other, whether it's pizza, cheeseburgers, mac ‘n cheese, lasagna, penne vodka, chicken salad," she proclaimed in an upload. "You cannot determine the best unless you try things side by side."
