'Dutton Ranch' Star Hinted at Twist Before [Spoiler]'s Pregnancy Reveal

Dutton Ranch heightened the stakes with a shocking pregnancy reveal.

Before the Friday, July 3, finale, Natalie Alyn Lind teased her character Oreana's journey to motherhood, telling Us Weekly, "My arc is heading in a direction that I am not going to be specific about but she starts off the season and ends it a completely different person."

Lind, 26, noted that there will be "things that happen that change her life forever." That was proven to be true when Oreana took a pregnancy test and realized she is expecting Carter's (Finn Little) baby.

The situation got even more complicated for Oreana when her dad Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) was shot to death by his brother, Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba).

"What I loved about the original Yellowstone so much is the family dynamics," Lind noted to Us. "I think that family relationships can be the absolute messiest because your family can hurt you more than anyone."

Lind confirmed that family dynamics would be at the center of the Yellowstone spinoff, adding, "Both families will fight for each other and seeing this integration of the two families come together … it gets messy. It gets really messy. In the best way. It gets so juicy. I'm so excited."

Yellowstone, which premiered in 2018, introduced viewers to the fictional Dutton family. The Paramount Network show came to an end in 2024, expanding its universe with Luke Grimes‘ CBS show Marshals and Dutton Ranch, which premiered in May.

As the show continued, viewers had strong feelings - especially about Oreana.

"I love playing a character that's loved and hated," Lind shared with Us. "I love seeing the fan responses."

The actress has enjoyed the varied reaction to her controversial role, adding, "There's something that I giggle about every time that somebody really hates my character because then I'm doing my job right. Because my character is not supposed to be a lovable character necessarily. She's supposed to create a conversation which has been happening and that's the best thing in my opinion."

While not everyone has understood Oreana's intentions, Lind was thrilled about the challenge.

"That's been the most exciting part about playing her and that's what I wanted to do while filming the show," she shared. "I think that she's a character with a ton of levels."

Lind is hoping to learn more about Oreana in future seasons. "The Duttons have been seen for so many years that hopefully with more seasons to come, you're going to start finding out more about her background," she teased. "When we started the show, they sat us down and had a conversation about where they came from."

She continued: "There's a lot more that has not been seen or told about Oreana that I'm really excited for people to find out. That might explain some of it - not all of it. The behavior sometimes is not redeemable but I think that some parts of her will still, people will look back and be like, ‘Oh, that's why.'"

Dutton Ranch is streaming on Paramount+.
