Ciara Miller Says Red Hair at Dramatic 'Summer House' Reunion Was 'Symbolic'
Ciara Miller wasn't just changing her hair color - she was making a statement with her "cherry-cola" Summer House reunion look.
Miller, 30, opened up about the burgundy shade she donned during the three-part Summer House reunion in a new interview with Allure on Wednesday, June 10, noting, "I don't experiment with my hair color a lot."
Miller, who made headlines for confronting her former BFF Amanda Batula and ex West Wilson on their romance during the season 10 reunion, continued, "The red was like, ‘She's on fire.' It was symbolic, but I also wanted to try something new."
She described her color as "cherry-cola" in a May interview with BravoTV.
As for her two-piece Di Petsa dress, Miller wanted her glam to stand out against the "muted" design which featured a sheer bodice, a bra top and a nude skirt with fringe embellishments. "I wanted my glam to really be able to speak for itself," she explained to Allure.
One thing Miller wants her fans to take away from her Summer House looks is her mane. "Honestly, I hope they talk about how I have great hair, I've had great glam, and the type of friend that I am," she said. "And leave it at that."
Fans can expect to see Miller rock a number of new styles during her cohosting gig on Love Island USA's Aftersun, as well as "hair accessories [and] jewels."
"I wore braids when I was younger. Being able to come back to that style is nostalgic but a representation of who I actually am," she shared. "It tells a story of my comfort: not trying to fit in a box, avoid questions, or being in white spaces and having my hair be a topic of conversation. I feel like I've been able to shed the anxiety or the anticipation of that."
She continued, "Going into this next era… I'm in my ‘F*** it, f*** you' era of I am me. I'm being myself. I'm taking up space with my hair, but also in my presence.' When I'm walking into the room, it's understanding that I deserve to be here. I'm grateful and I don't take any of this for granted, but I'm also where I'm supposed to be."
Miller also made sure to credit her hairstylists for ensuring that her tresses are always on point. She admitted, "It's a team effort between me and my hairstylist taking care of my hair, trying to protect it, and morphing into different styles."
