New ‘Fargo’ season is set in Kansas City — but can you tell? Watch the trailer here
The next season of “Fargo” is set in 1950 Kansas City — not that you can tell from the new trailer FX released on Thursday.
That’s because Season 4 of the anthology series is being filmed in the Chicago area. Still, we’re supposed to think it’s Kansas City, and there is a kernel of truth since the Italian mob is central to the plot.
“Family is complicated. Crime is organized,” says the network’s teaser for the show.
Chris Rock plays Loy Cannon, the head of a fictional black crime family who has struck an uneasy and unusual truce with the rival Italian mob, headed by Jason Schwartzman. As part of this pact, the families have swapped their youngest children to raise as their own. Hey, why not? But then the head of the Italian mob dies, and all bets are off.
FX also unveiled the season premiere date: April 19.
In other Kansas City-related TV news this week, ABC revealed the date of the series finale of “Modern Family,” which co-stars Kansas City, Kansas, native Eric Stonestreet. After 11 seasons, the series will air its final episode on April 8.
