‘Producers,’ ‘Cats,’ ‘My Fair Lady’ on tap for Musical Theater Heritage next year

Musical Theater Heritage — the theater in Crown Center known for emphasizing music and plot over costumes and sets — has announced a lineup of beloved Broadway classics for its 2018 season. The schedule:

▪ “Broadway’s Golden Age” (March 1-18, 2018): An original revue of 1950s musicals, written and hosted by the theater’s founder, George Harter.

▪ “The Producers (June 7-24, 2018): This Mel Brooks musical comedy about bumbling Broadway moguls won 12 Tony Awards.

▪ “Cats” (Aug. 9-26, 2018): The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical ran for 18 years on Broadway, 21 years in London.

▪ “My Fair Lady” (Sept. 13-30, 2018): This Lerner and Loewe musical about Eliza Doolittle won seven Tonys.

▪ A fifth musical yet to be announced will be presented Nov. 1-18.

▪ “A Spectacular Christmas Show” (Dec. 6-23, 2018) will once again feature holiday music from theater as well as new arrangements of holiday classics.

The theater will also continue its Musical Monday and Tuesday Series highlighting the best of musical theater.

2018 marks the theater’s 16th season, and it recently signed a five-year extension with Crown Center.
