‘Rogue One’ final trailer makes fans crazy for ‘Star Wars,’ Darth Vader
The final trailer for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” opening Dec. 16, was released Thursday to much fanfare.
The film is about the rebel alliance right before the very first “Star Wars” movie, and a Han Solo origin story. We meet many new characters, including:
▪ Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), an ambitious Imperial officer trying to suck up to the Emperor and avoid Vader’s wrath.
▪ Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones of “The Theory of Everything”), a galactic outlaw, trying to set things right by leading a mission for the good guys. Her father (Mads Mikkelsen) is a scientist sought by both sides.
▪ Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), a fighter who debuted in the animated “Clone Wars” series.
The outpouring of love for the latest trailer was immediate.

Well, it's official. I tried to hate Rogue One, I really did. But it looks amazing and you can bet I'm going to see it in theatres!

Of course, you’re going to get the skeptics.
Even if this is her only scene, I'll be happy. She's at the table. She's speaking. She's not just background. We exist here #RogueOne pic.twitter.com/WVvgSXF4SX

am i the only one who wants more women involved in rogue one? esp. women of color? kinda tired of seeing the same type of heroine in sw.

I hate being cynical about it, but Rogue One isn't looking good. Every single line of dialogue made me cringe. It could be just the trailer.

I hate how Star Wars: Rogue One is a blatant nostalgia grab for our fond memories of the disrupting Nazis in the French Underground.

But who knew so many people missed Darth Vader so much?

If I could go back and tell my 5-year-old self that Vader could still send chills down my spine at 20, she wouldn't believe me. #RogueOne pic.twitter.com/46VnTTgooH
