Best things to do in KC this weekend: Extreme egg hunt & late-night comedy live
If you’re heading out this weekend, have your rain boots, rain jackets and umbrellas on standby. Multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms lie ahead for Kansas City, according to the National Weather Service.
You’ll really need protection from the elements if you’re heading out to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival grounds for an adults-only post-Easter egg hunt. A little less protection if you’re seeing a “Saturday Night Live” alum on one of his two shows performing downtown.

Comedian Seth Meyers at The Midland Theatre
Longtime stand-up comedian and late-night television host Seth Meyers is performing two shows in Kansas City this weekend.
The host of NBC’s “Late Night” talk show was only scheduled for a 7 p.m. show Saturday, April 11, at The Midland Theatre, 1228 Main St. That one sold out, so he added a 4 p.m. show on the same day in response to the demand.
Tickets to see the former “Saturday Night Live” star start at $44.95 on AXS.
Kegs ‘N’ Eggs
The extreme egg hunt at the site of the Renaissance fair, 633 N. 126th St. in Bonner Springs, starts with a pre-show party at 11 a.m. Saturday for Kegs ‘N’ Eggs. The festival grounds will have 15,000 eggs for visitors to find, with each egg containing prizes including cash and other surprises.
The keg aspect kicks in with a craft beer festival for all attendees, which is why this event is only available for guests ages 21 and up. The egg hunt runs from 1-5 p.m.
Tickets start at $35 for visitors who won’t drink. The ticket includes unlimited water and soda during the hunt, mocktail tastings, tote bag with one prize egg and a T-shirt.
Visitors who want to drink beer can buy tickets for $60, which includes access to the craft beer festival and a sample glass, along with a tote bag with one prize egg and a T-shirt.
“Calm” egg hunts and “egg hunts in a bag” are available for those who don’t want to run around.
Tulip Festival at the Fun Farm
The Fun Farm at 650 N. Jefferson St. in Kearney began its annual Tulip Festival earlier this week, and it’ll run through Sunday, April 12. Visitors can frolic through 12 acres filled with over 1.5 million tulips, and pick some of the tulips, hyacinth and daffodils from the farm to take home.
It’s open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 10-12. Tickets cost $24.95 online and $30.95 in-person at the gate.
Hip-hop artist Curren$y at The Truman
New Orleans based-rapper Curren$y will stop in Kansas City for The Winners Circle Tour. The show is 8 p.m. Friday, April 10, at The Truman.
General admission for the show starts at $54.64, according to AXS.
Curren$y recently released his “Spiral Staircases” mixtape with Larry June and The Alchemist. He will be joined by The 747 Band, Fendi P and Stoney Jackson for his show.
Paw Patrol day at Kauffman Stadium
The Royals host their first collaboration with popular Nickelodeon kids show “Paw Patrol” during their 1:10 p.m. game Sunday, April 12. Themed activities and activations based on the animated show will be placed around Kauffman Stadium for all to enjoy.
Tickets for the game start at $23 per person, but you can purchase a themed ticket starting at $35 per person, which comes with a Royals-branded plush toy of Chase, one of the show’s main characters.
The first 5,000 fans under the age of 14 to enter the stadium can also get a “Bobby Mitt Jr.” sliding glove.
