Country singer Darius Rucker to perform in Kansas City this summer
Multiplatinum country singer Darius Rucker will make a stop in Kansas City this summer for his latest tour.
Rucker announced on social media Tuesday that he will be going on his Songs Of Summer Tour, which includes a Kansas City stop on Friday, July 31, at the Starlight Theatre.
Rucker first gained notoriety as a member of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish in the 1990s, before focusing on his solo career and switching to country in the late 2000s.
Rucker is a three-time Grammy winner, known for his cover of “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show. Rucker’s cover is a certified diamond record by the RIAA, having sold 11 million copies to this date.
Hootie & the Blowfish’s 1994 debut album “Cracked Rear View” is one of the highest-selling albums of all time, selling over 22 million copies to this date.
Rucker performed in Kansas City in 2023 for the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, an annual charity event that raises money for Children’s Mercy Hospital.
